The Red Pill Birth Control

I went to the clinic and i was given an all white contraceptive pill. I want to know if they work the same as the most common mixed (red and white). Thank you ## Hi Fudua, Do you what brand it was that they had given you? Only asking because I think it really depends on the brand/generic or manufacturer you're comparing it with. In general they all work very similarly for the same purpose, but many of these oral contraceptives have a variation of pink, blue, brown, and/or white pills in their blister packets; each with active or inactive ingredients. So it would be difficult to determine how each one might affect you until you actually take them. More often than not I see posts stating that the brands are better than the generics, but these types of medications can affect each perso...

Ive been taking redotex for 3 weeks now my weight loss is amazing ive lost 17 lbs and have had no real side effects other than dry mouth but drinking water is vital. I have an implanon birth control inserted in me and dont have frequent menstraution cycles. But since taking the redotex my menstraution hasnt stopped some days its spotting other days its full on. Has this happened to anyone ? thanks for your help :) ## Hi Laurie, Based on my research, there aren't any drug interactions listed between the active ingredients found in Implanon and those in Redotex. Although I still wouldn't be surprised if Redotex has been contributing to the cause, since the stimulating ingredients in this medication may have some effect on your thyroid & hormones. I think it may also be a good ...

Hey what are the chances of becoming pregnant when u r using doxytet while on birth control ## Hello, Katalia! How are you? Yes, the NHS does list it as a possibility that this antibiotic may reduce the efficacy of oral contraceptives and a backup method of protection should be used. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

This is the first month I've been on birth control and I was told to start it right away, and I did, so 2 weeks into my first pack I started my period, but before it started I had 2 or 3 days of terrible cramping, which is why I went on birth control in the first place, I figured it was normal and kept taking the pills once a day but the cramping hasn't gone away, normally my periods are 3 days long but so far it's been a week and hasn't stopped plus the 3 days and in total my cramps have been far worse than they ever have been before, and the blood that is coming out is bright red and thin, normally my period blood is dark and thick, I don't know if this is normal but I can't handle the cramping much longer. ## Hello, Kirsten! How are you doing? I'm sorry ab...

Hi, I started the pills backwards, I started on the red pills on the last day of my period. What should I do? Do I continue to take the red pills or do I start the white pills? Also are they going to work? Like will I be protected from getting pregnant? Thank you so much! ## Hello, Rose! How are you? Yes, you should have started with the active pills on the first or second day of your period, that would provide immediate protection from pregnancy, because it would prevent ovulation this month. Unless your doctor says otherwise, you should move on to the active tablets. If you start the active tablets at any time later, you must take them for a full 7 days, before they will become protective against pregnancy, according to the FDA. So, you must use a backup method of protection, until th...

I started taking metronidazole 500mg tablets on 9/26 three times daily for 10 days and take progesterone only BC DAILY. I had intercourse on 10/1 and went right home taking my pill. I was to start my period somewhere between Thursday and Saturday (I'm irregular) and have not started yet, should I be worried? ## I didn't find any problems, or interactions listed, it is usually the level of estrogen that some antibiotics can alter that reduces the efficacy of some oral contraceptives, according to the NIH. If you're concerned about pregnancy, there is never any harm in checking, but if you're irregular anyway, there is likely nothing to worry about. Have you started, yet?

Will this RX interfere with birth control (the pill)? In other words: do I need to use a backup method and if so how long should I do so? ## Yes, one of the ingredients in it is Amoxicillin and it can reduce the efficacy of hormonal contraceptives, so a backup method should be used until you've been finished with the antibiotic and have taken your birth control continuously again for 7 days. Hi i'm 17 years old and my period is so heavy and nothing helps. I was on birth control but I stopped. Is there any over the counter pills to help my heavy period? ## Hello, Muna143! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. Unfortunately no, there is nothing available over the counter that will help. Why did you stop the birth control? That's usually the treatment of choice for such a situation. It helps rebalance the hormones, so your periods are lighter, or you may not have any, at all. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms.

A small round pink/light red pill with an italic capital S on one side and the number 62 on the other side. The pill is a chalky white on the inside and the coating scratches away. I'm thinking it may be some sort of painkiller? ## It is not listed in any of our prescription drug resources. While there is a chance that it is a very new tablet, it makes me suspect that it may be something available over the counter. There is also a chance that it could be a foreign medication. Can you provide anymore information? Was it found in the U.S. or elsewhere? ## It's a birth control pill called Seasonal (Levonorgestrel - ethinyl estradiol) ## No don't worry like that it's only a contraceptive pill!!

red, round one side has o/o one side has 42 ## This one is easy, I am on these. It is a birth control, generic for Desogen, it is called Apri. ## Thanks for the input.....I found it in my dining room and had no idea when/where it came from. ## Someone must have dropped it, the coating on them, if they get damp can also be a little sticky, then when it dries, it sets up normal again, so it might have been dropped outside and tracked in on someone's shoe, or even a paw if you have pets. ## round pills 44 on top 291 on bottom tan in color pill form

i am on loestrin 24 since 4 months i took multivitamen and loestrin 24 in the same time today and i vomited 2 minutes after what should i do , i know that the multivitamen is the cause because it make me nauseating every time i get them now can i take another pill of loestrin, cause i am afraid i throghup the pill? thank you ## Have you consulted your doctor? Yes, generally, if you vomit within 15 minutes of taking your birth control tablet, they recommend that you take a second pill. In the future, you may want to refrain from taking it, at the same time that you take the vitamin, to prevent this and you may want to make sure that you don't take the vitamin on an empty stomach. Taking it with a small meal or snack may help reduce the nausea. ## Hello I been on loestri 24 fe for 3 mo...

I found a pill when moving house, its a round, white, almost chalky pill with T1 on one side and what looks to be a symbol very similar to the libra star sign on the other side (2 parallel lines, one with a semi-circle coming out of one of the lines). Can anyone tell me what it is? ## Hi Aaron, I have identified a small round yellow pill with the imprint T1 as Levonest; which contains the active ingredients ethinyl estradiol (0.03 mg) + levonorgestrel (0.05 mg). You may have one of the placebo (sugar pills), which are usually the white pills in a pack of birth control. Manufacturer: Novast Laboratories, Ltd. This pill is an extended cycle combined oral contraceptive pill. These particular types of birth control are COCPs packaged to reduce or eliminate the withdrawal bleeding that occur...

Am using oralcon for the first time. I just wanted to know when will I have my periods because I am now taking the red pill, am on the 3rd pill, but still nothing. Am now worried, can I be pregnant? ## Usually when you first start taking birth control, it's contraceptive effects generally don't take full effect until the first couple weeks or month after you begin treatment. Although I think this long time frame/waiting period may vary according to the brand. I'm not sure if your doctor or gynecologist also mentioned this, but irregular periods and missed periods are common side effects associated with these types of medications. This is largely due to the fluctuation in hormone levels, which ultimately have a direct impact on your menstrual cycles. Have you taken a pregnanc...

Hello, I got the implanon inserted 1 year and 8 months ago and starting this year I have gain weight approximately 25 lbs. I went to a nutritionist and prescribed me redotex, just wanted to know if it interferes with birth control function or if the results of loosing weight are the same while using birth control? Just a quick question, Thanks. ## Hello, Birdy21! How are you? Redotex is not recommended, the FDA actually issued a warning about it last year. It contains a potentially dangerous combination of medications, including a benzodiazepine, which carries the risk of being habit forming. Have you considered consulting an actual doctor? There are safe and legal medications that you can try.

I've been in loestrin 24 for a year now, possibly a year and a half. My boyfriend and I are active and we use pull-out with the birth control. I'm on my last day of white pills today and yesterday I started getting a brown spotting, like the beginning of my period, and now when I woke up today it was dark red and kind of clumpy (sorry) like it was the beginning of my period. I've never had my period start before my placebo pills, usually on the third brown pill is when it starts. I haven't missed a pill completely, but I have taken several this month 3-4 hours late, if that makes any difference? I'm a little freaked out and have been really stressed for a while. If anyone can shed some light on what's going on I'd reallllly appreciate it. Thanks. ## If you...

I read that vivvan caffeine pull will work but only thing I know tiny small and white is birth control pill. I really wish exlax would look like it but anything otc I can use to catch him.
