I was wondering if anyone takes Adderall for the severe fatigue and has it worked? ## Hi Lucinda, From what I've researched, there are many studies, reviews, and drug descriptions online indicating that Adderall has a proven ability to decrease symptoms of chronic fatigue as well as improve cognitive function. Its active ingredients (dextroamphetamine + amphetamine) are also classified by nih.gov as "central nervous system stimulants", that work by regulating certain natural substances in the brain. One thing to note though, is that different manufacturers of generic/brand name adderall are reported to vary in their overall effectiveness. So it may be that you have to try a few versions out until you find what manufacturer works best. Perhaps the following related threads ca...

I was diagnosed with SLE and RA finally. I was given Plaquenil for the lupus symptoms and cymbalta for depression and pain. Are these good medications for SLE and RA ## Yes. I have SLE and have been prescribed Plaquenil 200mg, twice daily for the past 10 years. However my SLE began to attack my Kidneys and Lungs; therefore, I was placed on Steriods (started at 40 mg down to 7.5 mg daily) and Cellcept 2 grams daily (medication used to treat cancer) to suppress my immune system. I also take Cymbalta for depression. ## ## I also take Plaquenil twice daily for Rheumatoid Arthritis. This is an antimalarial drug that also has been found to help with RA symptoms by suppressing the immune system's response. I have my eyes checked about twice a year to ensure that this medicine has not affec...

Can you use this cream for lupus break out on the skin ## Hello, Cathy! How are you? Usually, oral medications are used, to they work systemically to alleviate as many symptoms, as possible. I'm not sure if a topical cream would do much to help, but you could check with your doctor to see what they think. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including skin redness, irritation, dryness and itching. Are you on any medications? ## I have skin discolouration & it appears as if it's possibly spreading or maybe I'm developing a skin rash but will Gelmicin help if I apply it?

Hi, I wanted to ask if any of you have had any success or made worse having steroid epidural shots? I had one 8 weeks ago for the first time. I don't have major spine problems but did get thrown out of a car in a wreck. My dx is lupus, hernia, lymphadenopathy with B symptoms, and my foot is numb. Lupus has an entire list of symptoms so I won't engage on that. I'm trying to explain the best of my ability how I feel after my first inj. I have pain at times like it's heart attack symptoms, I have fluid retention, it hurts to move my neck, it hurts to walk and I've currently been unable to run our company in the last 3 weeks. I am so much more weaker too. I know this was to help joint pain but I feel it's set off more problems than I bargained for. Also prior to the ...

I am 55 years old and have lupus, arthritis, and severe osteoporosis. After more than a decade of taking various meds to try to stop my bones from wasting away with no success, I had my first injection of Prolia at the end of December 2015. I am supposed to get my second shot within the week, but have decided against it. Like many of you, I have felt just awful since December: severe bone and joint pain, worsening depression, constipation, exhaustion, and just plain feeling incapable of doing almost anything. When I talked to both my endocrinologist and rheumatologist about my symptoms, my concerns were dismissed and I was told the side effects would only last a few days at the most. My question is have any of you felt better after you stopped taking the Prolia? If so, how long did it t...

I was recently diagnosed with Seratonin Syndrome after 3 months of going from doctor to doctor trying to find out what was wrong with me -- nobody knew how to diagnose it -- heart palpitations, severe joint pain (was tested for lupus and RA) dialated pupils, very agitated and irritable, nose bleeds, increased blood pressure and pulse rate. I had been on Prozac (10 mg) for over 20 yrs. after an auto accident & subsequent surgery, Neurontin (1500-1800 mg) was added, along with Tramadol (50mg) 3-4 times a day. Cymbalta (30 mg) was added to the cocktail in December & I have been fighting symptoms that no one could diagnose. Seratonin Syndrome can be life-threatening, but I was prescribed all of these medications which did nothing but react with each other. Please be careful & do...

why am i prescribed ent 5mgprednislone for phlem in throat ## Hi Kate, Listed below is a pretty detailed explanation for reasons why this drug is prescribed by your doctor: "Prednisone is used alone or with other medications to treat the symptoms of low corticosteroid levels (lack of certain substances that are usually produced by the body and are needed for normal body functioning). Prednisone is also used to treat other conditions in patients with normal corticosteroid levels. These conditions include certain types of arthritis; severe allergic reactions; multiple sclerosis (a disease in which the nerves do not function properly); lupus (a disease in which the body attacks many of its own organs); and certain conditions that affect the lungs, skin, eyes, kidneys blood, thyroid, st...

My Dr prescribed this yesterday. I have taken a total of 10 pill=40mg. I am terribly sick. Throwing up, diarrhea, extreme headache, my body feels like it's on fire but after taking my temp it only reads 94.7. I feel horrible. Muscle weakness, blurry eyes. Kind of scared, not sure what I should do. ## Those can be side effects of this medication, according to FDA reports, since it is a steroid. You may also experience acne and fluid retention. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? If the symptoms get severe, you may need to see your doctor about trying a different medication. What condition is being treated? ## This was prescribed for lupus. It was suppose to help the inflammation of my joints. I stopped taking it after the second day. Horrible side effects for me. Has anyone taken bethanechol 25 mg. 2 x a day.for bladder spasms ,how long did you have to take bethanechol before it worked.did it cause leg cramps, lower back pain and swelling? ## Hi Mitzi, I went ahead and looked up the possible side effects of bethanechol on several different webpages, however I found it odd that none of them listed any of those symptoms in particular. If you have been taking bethanechol and noticed anything unusual or bothersome like that I would strongly encourage you to contact your doctor about it as soon as possible to determine whether the symptoms are in fact related to bethanechol. Your doctor may recommend trying a different medication altogether if the symptoms don't improve on their own. ## Thank you for your reply. I have Systemic Lupus so on other ...

My wife, age 84, had arthroscopic surgery on her knee 15 years ago with little benefit. Lately she has had the rooster shots with no benefit. I am going for my fourth Benlysta treatment tomorrow and although I've noticed huge differences in my mobility and joint junctions, I've been getting really bad migraines everyday around 3-4 in the afternoon.
