I am a 33 yr old woman being treated by Pain Mgmt Dr. for chronic pain as a result of 3 failed elbow surgeries and nerve damage. My current dosage is 50mcg/hr every 48 hrs with up to 4 oxycodone per day for break through pain. I know the patch is suppose to be a good medication for pain control, but I am really considering asking to change to a different medication because of the sweating problems I have on the Fentanyl and I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I am constantly drenched sinced I have been on the patch. Dr tried hytrin to control sweating, but all that did was cause me to bloat. Celebrex made me sweat excessively on my scalp, so I had to stop using it. I used it for a few years 200mg per day, for arthritis and broken ankle and a very bad back. Will coxflam have the same side effect ## Hello, Bets! How are you? Coxflam contains the active ingredient Meloxicam, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. That said, the only way to discover if it will cause the same issue is by trying it. That's not a typical side effect that it's been known to cause, though. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been sweating a lot, even in cold weather. Is this a possible side effect of Celebrex? ## Hi Debrose - do you have a fever or any cold / flu like symptoms? I was reading through the Celecoxib side effects on Medline Plus and didn't see anything specifically listing sweating or hot flashes. However, what you reported could go in line with other side effects listed. I would read through the list on that page, and definitely let your doctor know since they should factor in any other things from your medical history. For example, it says "Your blood pressure should be checked regularly during your treatment." Could the sweating relate to a change in your blood pressure? There is a chance that it's just a side effect of the medication, but there is also a possibility that it could be due to something more serious, such as it causing an elevation or your heart rate and blood pressure, which could be dangerous, so this really does need to be checked out. I started 5-10mg brintellix 2.5 months ago switched from lexapro. After 6 weeks dr switched to 20 mg. i have been on 20mg for 5weeks. I wake up drenched in sweat. Flu like symptoms for week now. I have been on oxycontin for about 11 years for pain management. I take 80 to 100 mg per day in 20-30 mg doses orally. In the last couple of years I have developed a severe sweating problem...I will break into a sweat for no reason sometimes but usually upon any sort of stimulation physical or mental. I just went for a 10 minute walk and my shirt is soaked through...even the sleeves. For years I have been experiencing severe hot and burning sensation throughout whole body accompanied by all over sweating. I can't do anything without burning up first then the sweating follows. Sometimes I have 24 hours+. Hi, I had an iv injectafer infusion 5 days ago and I have been getting major hot flashes every hour or two ever since. My doctor said this isn't a side effect and maybe it's menopause, but my period stopped a year ago. I want to know why I am sweating so much when using dilaudids. It doesn't seem like a withdrawal thing because when I wake up I will be fine but when I take them i start sweating profusely like I am almost sick. If time goes by the sweating will stop but once I take them again I start the sweating again. If anyone can tell me anything I appreciate it. ## It sounds like you are having a reaction to the medication or you are taking too much. I would advise seeing your doctor immediately. You might want to taper down to avoid withdrawals. Tramadol 50mg will help keep the withdrawals at bay. Your pain doctor should easily prescribe it. Extreme bout's of excessive head sweating, vertigo, nausea, dizziness affiliated from high humidity. Have problems with chronic sinusitis, & bronchitis. Was taking levothyroxine for 5 yrs and had no energy, etc, etc. Recently switched to Amour Thyroid. Sweating comes on more suddenly with high humidity. 59 yr female, recent non smoker (25 month's non) after smoking for 35 yrs. Altogether with the attacks comes room spinning where I feel the need to curl up in the fetal position, nausea, excessive head sweating, dry mouth, and a feeling of narcolepsy. I took Bystolic when I was first diagnosed with high blood pressure and did fine. When the generic came out I was switched to it. It seems around the same time that any time I exert myself to do anything I start sweating just on my face, head and neck. Hello, does anyone have advice or comments regarding severe sweating when running while taking Valsartan (160mg)? I’m a distance runner and not a huge sweater especially indoors on the treadmill. Since I did not receive any reply/response, I am posting the same for obtaining advice from Doctors My grandson while sleeping in the night having profuse sweating in the head as if he has just come out from the bath room without wiping the head after the shower. Have been on Eliquis for about 4 weeks as a result of an AFib event and ER visit, turning into a week hospital stay. Terrible side effects. I sway between teeth-chattering coldness to profuse heat and sweating. My bedding is soaked through every night. But, worse of all is this funky medicinal body odor that I can't escape, even with 3-4 baths/showers a day. It's so disgusting that it makes me sick to my stomach. Also have awful metallic taste in mouth, so all food or drink tastes terrible. Along with the fatigue, insomnia, memory problems, these effects are making this drug intolerable for me. In the summer my clothing, from the waist up only, smells sour when I perspire heavily while working outside in the Texas heat. The smell is difficult to remove. The underarms of my t-shirt also turn blackish. Can this be caused by the use of Axiron? I am a 70 year old male. ## It is hard to say, since those can just be normal symptoms of sweating, even if you didn't have such an issue when younger, age can cause changes to your body. Although, the Axiron has been known to cause increased sweating in some people that use it, according to the side effects list, but I didn't see anything about an odor. Is this the only medication you are currently using?
