Im pregnant (3 weeks) and i need to take 50mg sulpiride a day for my anxiety problems. is it safe for my baby? ## My mother took this drug during her pregnancy. I am now 36 years old and I'm suffering from major depression although I have an above average IQ. I do believe the mental illness I suffer from is more the cause of heredity factors than the use of sulpiride during pregnancy. My younger brother was born mentally handicapped and also during that pregnancy she medicated with sulpiride.

I am allergic to sulphur. The name sulpiride suggest a sulphur content. Does the sulpiride in the espiride contain any sulphur? ## am allergic to sulphur. The name sulpiride suggest a sulphur content. Does the sulpiride in the espiride contain any sulphur? ## I think you are confusing a sulfa based medication, with Sulfur/Sulphur, but they are not the same. Being allergic to one, does not automatically mean you will be allergic to the other. Which one are you actually allergic to, and what allergy symptoms do you experience? Allergic reactions typically include symptoms such as headache, hives, itching, swelling, and trouble breathing. Are the prescribing doctor, and your pharmacy aware of your allergies?

Side effects on OD of edpiride ## Hi Andy, I believe another name for this medication is Sulpride or levosulpride. I couldn't find a lot of information about the side effects of overdose, but this is what I have found: "Sulpiride has a relatively low order of acute toxicity. Substantial amounts may cause severe but reversible dystonic crises with torticollis, protrusion of the tongue, and/or trismus. In some cases all the classical symptoms typical of severe Parkinson's Disease may be noted; in others, over-sedation/coma may occur." You can learn more about this drug on the page for Levosulpiride I hope this helps!

I used espiride for a year while breastfeeding, not realizing it is a antideppresant. That was in 2011. A few months ago my dr prescribed lexamil to me for chronic tired syndrome? I have gained 7kg in six months? Is espiride and lexamil more or less the same? I would rather use espiride? ## Hello, Es! How are you? Actually, the Espiride contains Sulpiride, which is an atypical antipsychotic, though it is also used to treat major depressive disorder, it is not an actual antidepressant.
