My Pharmacy switched my prescription from the green pills that are Oval shape to these pink pills that are round and are not as effective with the control of my high blood pressure. What am I taking because it is not Losartan as before. ## This tablet is listed by the U.S. FDA as containing 25mgs of Losartan, however, there can be some slight differences in generic medications. They do allow them to differ in the amount of the active ingredient by as much as plus or minus 20%, they consider this an acceptable therapeutic window and, for most people, it doesn't make a difference. Any difference? My pharmacy wasn't able to give me my usual green Losartan. Should I be concerned? ## Hello, Alan! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Sandoz Pharmaceuticals and they do list it as containing 25mgs of Losartan. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and increased urination. It is normal for pharmacies to switch which generic they carry, depending on who was offering the cheapest price to their supplier, when they needed to restock their supply.
