My, soon to be, former doctor told me that over-the-counter Slo-Niacin damages the liver while Niaspan does not but he cited no research. I have read, again without citing research, that any kind of extended release tablet is harmful. Any comments? ## Well Niaspam is just a name brand for a pill that is just Niacin, so that really doesn't make sense. Any pill processed through the liver can cause damage and that is over 90% of them on the market. What are the side effects of Niacin NF ## Niacin-NF contains Inositol Nicotinate, it is a supplement that is used as a vasodilator. As such, the side effects for it have not been studied, as has been down for regular prescription medications. Some Niacin products are known to cause flushing, however, this formulation is broken down much slower, so those incidences have been greatly reduced. Since it is also a vasodilator, this could result in your being more sensitive to heat and cold, in your extremities. Are there any other questions?

Can I take ciprofloxacin at the same time with Lisinopril or Amlodipine and Metformin? Can I also take it so minutes before I take Slo Niacin and Soy Isoflavones in the evening? ## information on ciprofloxoin hcl ## Have they all been prescribed for you? Ciprofloxacin can increase the amount of Amlodipine that you absorb, it can also increase the effect of Metformin, according to the FDA reports, so it's best not take them unless your doctor has said you should do so. Additionally, the Niacin may alter the effects of your Metformin and reduce its efficacy. Some of these medications may require dosage instructions, while you are taking the Ciprofloxacin.

My brother is taking what he called niastat or something similar. At first I thought he had said niacin. He said it was a vitiamin. Any idea. He eats a well balanced diet and takes a multiple vitiamin daily. I beleive he is over reliant on medications he doesn't need. we have discussed this and I told him I would find the answer. Thanks ## Niastat is just a slow acting form of Niacin. How much is he taking? What does his doctor think about it? If he's just taking it and a multivitamin, there really shouldn't be any harm, unless there are reasons that he shouldn't be taking them, which only his doctor can check for and advise him on.

What is a pink oval pill scored down the middle and 250 on back of pill with nothing on the scored side? ## I'm fairly certain this is an old erythromycin pill, 250mg. It is an antibiotic used to treat infection.
