Side Effects Metronida

Hi I was prescribed adco-metronida and amoxilyn by my dentist yesterday-1 tablet 3 times a day. I have taken two doses- this morning every joint is aching. Even my fingers and toes. I used flagyl almost 4 months ago for 7 days. I still have a terrible, sometimes salty, sometimes metallic taste in my mouth. Is this long term side effect at all normal? ## According the drug's side effect profile, a sharp, unpleasant metallic taste is not unusual. I've also heard that Peppermint candy seems to help, since it increases saliva production and masks the metallic taste. It probably won't make it go away, but should certainly make it more tolerable. Hy,i am 13 weeks preg,and i had an abdomen pain so I went to the clinic the nurse gave me Bio-metronidazole 400mg,she advised me to take all 5 tablets at once. I was on Metronidazole for 7 days & finished it 3 days ago. I experienced some nausea & even vomited a couple of times while taking it but now that I am not taking it anymore I have been having strong stomach cramps off and on & as of today I also have very watery diarrhea. I had to take plan b in early November, and ended up having two periods a week apart from each other. 11/14-11/18 and 11/24-11/28. That was my last period. I ended up being prescribed metronidazole for BV which I think started from the two periods jacking up my PH.. I took 2 pills a day for 7 days and this was early December. It's January 3rd and I'm now 12 days late for my period. I have been on metronidazole for 3 days now for stomach bacteria. One of the side effects is the metalic bitter taste and or tongue/mouth irritation. Is there anything I can take or drink that will make that side effect go away or more tolerable? ## Hello, Red! How are you? Yes, that is an annoying side effect. I found that some sodas seemed to help, if you're allowed to drink them. You may want to try mints, mouthwash or some type of strong candy that could help overpower it. I never took the metrnidazole only the amox. I have nearly finished the course and still have dirrheoa and tummy pains. I have some Augmentin 375 given for the original div. which I didn't like. If I take the Aug 375 with the metronidazole 400 will it be more effective than just the amox 500mg?

Hi, I went to the clinic because I was experiencing lower left abdominal pain. I did a u/a at the clinic and there was blood 2+ and leukocytes 2+. So I was given metronidazole 400mg 5 tablets as a single dose and doxytet 100mg daily for 7 days. Immediately after taking 1st dose of doxy, I went on my menstrual cycle and it doesn't seem to stop.
