I HAVE 2 BOTTLES OF METFORMIN HCL TAB 500MG. ONE BOTTLE HAS WHITE ROUND TABLET A/12 ON IT AND THE OTHER HAS WHITE OVAL TABLET a logo and 4331/500 ON IT. ARE THESE THE SAME MEDICATIONS? COULD THEY BE GENERIC AND THE OTHER BRAND NAME MEDICATION? ## I have two bottles of Metformin HLC Tabs. One is a refill for the other. The tabs are different shapes made by different companies. Same strength is the same. Is this a mistake. ## This type of thing does confuse many people, which is why I think more medications should be standardized as to how they look. However, right now they aren't, so you can receive the same medication, manufactured by different companies and they may look completely differently.
