The Mentholatum Company, Inc. is a maker of non-prescription health care products founded in 1889 by Albert Alexander Hyde in the United States. It was bought out by Rohto Pharmaceutical Co., a Japanese health care company, in 1988. which is the best medicine for itching?? ## Sarna Lotion. You can find it at the pharmacy or your local supermarket's medicine section, normally. It's about 13 bucks and the ONLY thing that got me through P.U.P.P.P.s when I was eight months pregnant with twins. It stands for Pruritic Urticarial Postules and Plaques of Pregnancy. Very big name for an insanely itchy rash that NEVER stops itching no matter what you do. Birthing the baby/babies is the only known cure, but Sarna lotion was my saving grace-it made it so i felt like a human being again. Very soothing and like...manna from heaven but for itchy skin. hope this helps.

I usded to use a lotion called SARNA which contained Camphor 0.5%, Menthol 0.5% and Phenol 0.5%. I understand this was taken off the market because Phenol was not considered a good product to be included in a lotion. Can anyone suggest another produce similar as SARNA really helped my issue. It was originally prescribed by a skin specialist.

I am looking for a phenol cream 1.5% last distributed by Lanvin-Charles of the Ritz, Inc. in New York, NY. My jar is almost empty. ## Hi Linda, Is there any chance you might be referring to a lotion or cream called "SARNA" which contains: Camphor 0.5% + Menthol 0.5% + Phenol 0.5% (totaling 1.5%)? If so, from what I've heard, this product was taken off the market because Phenol was not considered a good product to be included in a lotion. I don't know the validity of this claim or if it's available in any other countries, but apparently these three ingredients mentioned above are widely available in the form of chapstick ointment/lipbalm, from other brands like Blistex. I would consider looking into that option even further if this is something that could still work f...
