I received a red and white capsule and was told it was 30mg oxycodone is this true? I have seen all kinds of oxycodone but not this ## Hi Sandradee, There actually are red and white capsules containing Oxycodone; but not in a 30mg dosage. These capsules also contain Acetaminophen. The dosage I've seen for these specific pills are: Acetaminophen (500mg) + Oxycodone (5mg). Additionally, for verification, the national drug codes for these red and white capsules are: 00054-2795 and 00591-0737. Did you get this pill off the street by chance? That may explain a few things. I was given a blue and white capsule with white powder in it with NO IMPRINTING AT ALL on it and said it was a 30mg oxycodone. Is this possible?? Can a compounding pharmacy do this? ## Short answer: Yes, as long as the physician prescribed and there is a specific need for it to be compounded. That being said...I would be very cautious and inquire as to WHY they are compounding 30mg oxy as capsules instead of using the commercially produced tablets. I myself am a pharmacist and do many different types of compounding- mostly in the pain sector. and the only time I compound oxycodone is to combine it with either something for nausea (common side effect) or low dose ibuprofen or acetaminophen, or in combo with something to reduce/prevent constipation. 30 mg oxycodone in red and white capsule with no marking ## There are no 30mg Oxycodone capsules available on the U.S. prescription market that don't have markings, they are all required to have markings to enable their identification. Learn more Oxycodone details here. The only way you would get an Oxycodone capsule here that wouldn't have a marking would either be due to it being a foreign medication, or if it is a dosage that was specially ordered by a doctor and made by a compounding pharmacy. If the latter is the case, then they wouldn't do a 30mg capsule, because that dosage doesn't need to be specially made. Where was it found?

capsule ## First off, I would like to state that there is no medication called Roxicet. This is a confusion of the names of two different brand name medications; Percocet, which contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone and Roxicodone, which just contains Oxycodone. The Oxycodone is a narcotic and can cause side effects such as: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can you provide the imprint from the capsules? one half is pink the other is white, it has APO on the pink side and 020 on the white side ## THIS IS NOT OXYCODONE! The capsule marked APO 020 is Omeprazole Delayed Release 20mgs. I checked several sources, and your capsule sounds suspect, the capsule with this marking should be pink and reddish brown, it does not have white on it. Here's an image for you: Capsule Image Omeprazole is a generic for Prilosec which helps prevent the production of stomach acid. There aren't any Oxycodone meds with that marking.
