My dr prescribed Purbac Ds 950 mg tabs, but the tab the chemist gave to me does not look like the correct tablet, as there is the word C24 engraved on the tab. Is this the right one or not? ## In my investigation, neither Purbac Adult, Purbac DS or Purbac Paediatric suspension are available in 950mg dosage forms. If not and you just have some left over from a prior prescription, you may run into problems if you don't have enough to completely eradicate the infection, because you run the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Such as: those suffering from Aids or patients receiving immunosuppressive therapy. The adverse effects can include skin rash, recurrent fever, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia and raised liver enzyme values. WIth that being said, this may not be a safe medication for you to take. I have been prescribed Purbac for MRSA for 5 months. Some docs say NO, and propose Clindamycin. When I diagnosed with food poisoning my doctor prescribed Purbac DS for me forgetting that Im allergic to Sulphur. I was on day 3 of taking the tablets when I realized that I was consuming Sulphur.
