When took purbac i was not aware that i was two weeks preg, after 4 week on medication i discoverd that i was 6 weeks pregnant and i stopped taking them. now i am concerned about the hurm it will do on my unborn baby as it clearly state that it should not be administered during pregnancy. I have been on Purbac for acne, today (Wednesday) marks the 3rd week of treatment. Last week on Thursday was my last day having my period. Today I had intercourse with my fiance and the condom broke. I have been using Purbac for just over a year to treat adult acne. I am currently using a Mirena contraceptive. Will the use of Purbac in any way decrease the effectivness of Mirena and result in pregnancy? ## while being on triphasil,and using purbac at the same time.will this increase your chances of getiing pregnant? ## Purbac is an antibiotic and they most commonly affect oral contraceptives the contain a form of estrogen. im poz, and 14 weeks pregnant,i have been taking purbac and truvata and Aluvia, and i been vomiting day and night, so i asked the other doctor if this is ok, so he said Purbac will bring complications to the baby, is it true? ## Purbac contains the active ingredients Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim and while they don't list the specific issues it can cause, yes, it does say that it is contraindicated during pregnancy and nursing, because it crosses the placenta to the baby and can pass into breast milk.
