At times, I am on Prednisone to make my joints and smooth muscles stop hurting so much. It brings the swelling down. Unfortunately, I am an insulin-dependent diabetic because of the lupus. Prednisone brings my sugar level up very very high; therefore, I can no longer use it. The biggest side effect of Prednisone besides bringing your sugar level up, is a ravanous hunger! You always want to eat, can never get enough! It causes some swelling to the joints, rash, bloating. Yikes. I accidentally took all my first day of Methylprednisolone pills at one time. Will I be ok? ## Hello, Ann! How are you? Did you experience any adverse effects? Usually, they are only spaced out to try to help minimize the side effects, as listed by the FDA, they may include nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, and insomnia, so taking them all at once, may worsen those effects. The last time I was on this, my pharmacist flat out told me that it was fine to talk them, all at once, if I preferred, so I did. If I did so in the morning, then the worst of the side effects were worn off, by the time I was ready to go to bed. It's always best to double check with your doctor to be sure, though. ## This was helpful.I took all 6 at once and thought I might have overdosed.

I just started prednisone 10 mg pills for bronchitis and asthma. The dose is 4-3-2-1 3 days each. I lost a pill at the beginning. What is my best day to reduce 1? ## When u r down to two do not take any away from the beginning that is when the medicine that is when the medicine is trying to pounce on the problemwhen you get in a lower doses it doesn't matter as much not really going to text you a whole bunch anywhere but in a perfect world right before the end but not at the end is best but does not so much matter

I have trouble telling the difference between my 25 mg tablet of metoprolo by Ranbaxy and my 5 mg tablet of prednisone by West-Ward. How can I easily tell the difference when in my pill case? ## Take a closer look at the imprints on them, the imprints are on the tablets and usually placed on most prescriptions labels, as well. The 25mg Metoprolol from Ranbaxy should have the marking RE 79 on it. The 5mg Prednisone has the marking WEST-WARD 475. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Just because you're taking generics doesn't mean that you cannot ask for the same generic company for your meds. Perhaps you could ask your doc to Rx both meds from the same generic company. The Metropolol and the pred 5 from Ranbaxy (for example) do not look alike.

My dosage is 4x5mg daily for 5 days then 3 for 3 days then 2 daily for 3 days then 1 tablet daily for 3 days then stop My question is ! I have to start this in the morning, is this a lot at once I have to do this 2x a day for a bad cough. ( I have had it for 3 weeks) Also should I take a lower mg closer to time to get off it or what. I am taking This medication for a sore inflammation area in my chest that I have seen a physical therapist for. He told me to work out to stretch the chest but to do push ups and everything still. My other doctor gave me the steroid pill to get rid of this inflammation. With this medication are you supposed to rest it or use the muscle more? I still have inflammation in that spot. This is Day 2 of the pill so after todayI have three more days of this medication. What do you think or recommend.
