Paral Paraldehyde

Paraldehyde is the cyclic trimer of acetaldehyde molecules.[2] Formally, it is a derivative of 1,3,5-trioxane, with a methyl group substituted for a hydrogen atom at each carbon. The corresponding tetramer is metaldehyde. A colourless liquid, it is sparingly soluble in water and highly soluble in ethanol. Paraldehyde slowly oxidizes in air, turning brown and producing an odour of acetic acid. It quickly reacts with most plastics and rubber. Paraldehyde was first observed in 18...

I have lost my voice and have been told that my left vocal chord is not working. Is there any medical data on the reaction. ## Hi Michael....I was diagnosed with a paralyzed vocal cord last November. It took about 5 months to heal, after going into the hospital for a scope and two different physician's opinions. Do not despair. It will heal itself. Take care of your voice. Do not strain it and do not lose hope. ## Only a Dr. who orders tests could tell you what is causing it, whether it will heal and how long it may take.

I've been on Lunesta 3 mg for about a week now. The bad taste is Horrible (!), but twice now I've had what I think is sleep paralysis. I am awake, as I can see and hear things going on around me, but cannot move. I cannot move, cannot speak or scream for what feels like 10-15 minutes before finally being able to move. This has never happened before taking Lunesta, and after coming to myself I am in absolute panic because my limbs refuse to listen to my brain. The 2nd time I actually thought I might be dead. Is this a normal side effect? I haven't been able to find anything related? Can someone PLEASE tell me something??? ## Hello, Jess! How are you? Yes, most insomnia medications can cause things like that as side effects, although it seems like you're awake, you actuall...

Has anyone else experienced sleep paralysis accompanied by hallucinations since starting viibryd? I have been on the medicine for about 4 months now and for the last 2 1/2 months have had several very scary episodes of sleep paralysis... I have never been on a anti-depressant before and never experienced sleep paralysis until i started this medicine. I am a 23 year old female and i take no other meds except a daily multi-vitamin. Ive noticed that if i accidentally miss a viibryd pill i have sleep paralysis... but have also had it on occasions of not missing a pill. It occurs about once a week... its to the point where i dread going to sleep at night in fear of sleep paralysis, but the hallucinations that come along with it are what I dread the most. Has anyone else had a similar experie...

I have done a lot of research on this drug all over the internet for the last week because it's been the absolute worst week of my life. I started taking Viibryd 3 weeks ago for generalized anxiety disorder. I have previously been on effexor for 2 years, took 2 years off any medication, and then recently needed to start medication again. The first week, i had the typical side effects. Nausea, high energy, and insomnia. I knew that my body had to get used to it. By the 3rd night on the 20mg dosage, I was having 5-10 episodes of sleep paralysis with exploding head syndrome & hallucinations a NIGHT. I weened off for a few days, and now i'm completely off for 4 days and STILL having the episodes. I am scared to death to go to sleep at night because it is that terrifying. So, I a...

I took only 3 of my script. The first night it was like I was sleeping in cotton candy. Night, I was paralyzed physically but wide awake. My cat kept trying to close my eyes, but they'd pop right back open. It was snowing and I swear on all that is holy, I could "HEAR" each snowflake as they bumped one another and when they settled on my roof, FREAKY, couldn't move, glad I didn't have to go to bathroom!! Lasted 12 hrs. Night 3... NO SLEEP WHATSOEVER...This LASTED 105 hours, began getting sores in my mouth and nose, tongue swelled (not to uncomfortably.) Lips too, looked like J-LO in " Monster-In-Law" after she ate peanuts. I've had bad reactions before, didn't feel the need for EMS or anything. The ONLY good thing about this drug... The WEIGHT I'd...

After reading the post sleep paralysis w hallucinations I felt omgosh Iam not the only one, also scared to be on this med anymore. I have been on viibryd for four months now. After talking to my doc about how I have been feeling and feeling like "I just can't handle things at times" and crying while talking with her. She decided to put me on viibryd, with the starter pack. I am at 20 mg which I take at night. I have children to take care of and can't afford to b sleepy n the day. When I first started this med. I did not tell my husband because I wanted to see if he will notice a change in me. After being on it for three weeks ( which it took two days for me to see a difference) I told him. We both could see I was happier calmer. Handled things better and my libido was be...

I only missed my dose by a few hours. I lied down to go to bed and it was like I was tripping on hallucinogens. Everything I saw in this dream-like state was in a honeycomb type pattern and at one point I thought I was turning into a spider, at another I thought the covers were suffocating me and I was fighting to get them off and screaming for my husband to help me, but in reality I was just dreaming but could not wake up. When I finally did get up I called the pharmacist and told her what happened and asked if I could just stop taking the meds. She said it was dangerous to just stop and that I should talk to my doc about tapering down. I have never had an antidepressant do that to me before. It was really scary and I don't want to take a pill that will have this affect from one mi...

I found a bag of about 30 pills. Somewhat pinkish in color. One one side there is nothing and on the other are two straight lines running parallel to each other. No other identifiers. Any clues? ## Unfortunately, no. And if there are no letters or numbers, it is going to be difficult to determine what these are. We can rule them out as being a legal, U.S. manufactured prescription medication, because they are all required by law to have a unique imprint to enable their identification. However, it could be any one of a large number of over the counter products, an illicit drug, or a foreign medication. Does anyone else have any ideas?

my father in law aged 74 years is a diabetic patient and taking gluconorm pg 2 since last 7years. His glucose level is OK but now become a paralised patient. Does Gluconorm PG 2 creat Paralisis? ## Hello, Subhash! How are you? No, the medication shouldn't cause that. Has a doctor been consulted? How bad is the paralysis? Diabetes can cause many complications, even if someone's sugar levels seem to be under control. So, it could be due to some nerve damage, or other injury.
