Is there a chart or bell curve to show how fast, and how long 30mg Oxycontin pain pills provide relief ? There must be some way to determine how much pain relief I should be getting from this one pain pill lasting 12 hours, and when. Certainly no one is getting a full 30mg. of this pain medicine for the full 12 hours. Can you help me understand why I need to take (1) or (2) 5mg Oxycodone pain pills 2 or 3 times a day until the second Oxycontin is due? I have very severe pain from Post Polio Syndrome, and my Doctors know very little of the etiology of this condition, nor just how bad this pain is 24/7 It's been 60 years since my original bout with childhood polio, and 24 years now since PPS came knocking on my door. 24 on one side 93 on other oval white pill ## Don't have an image of this one, but I can confirm for you from my PDR databases that this is Oxycodone Extended Release 10mgs, a generic for Oxycontin. It is manufactured by Teva, the description is white, oval, film coated tablet, 93 on one side, 24 on obverse.

I been on all types of opiates and in some cases really high doses. now I'm back down to a reasonable dose of pain meds long acting oxy an 15mg 4aday Roxy ir for breakthrough. I'm supposed to have it in my system around the clock so the oxy 12hr med is not working at all it seems to me. I'm not a junkie so I have not ever been on the Actiq any mcg fentanyl lollipops an I see ppl saying how 1pop can last them on an off for a day but I'd like to switch the 2 20mg oxycontin for an equal amount of the say 400mcg lollipops an the 4oxycodone 15mg that do help my pain an get me through my day. Ive been taking the oxycontin for 10 yrs. best drug I ever had till the ops just came out. I only swallow them as directed. It used to take 30 min for me to feel them. Now its 3 hrs. and then it just slowly releases. A lortab is even better now. used to take a 40mg at 5 am-11am-and 5 pm. they worked great. some people I know couldnt take them for i made them drowsy or sick at their stomach. not for Me, it kept Me motivated and was perfect for my arthritis. [which is 24/7] my wrists are the size of baseballs. I need to find a substitute medication that will motivate me and not make Me sleepy. Can anyone help? I've seen several websights selling what they say is Oxycodone, are they generic or what? Most if not all are in some other country. ## Oxycontin is oxycotin, there is NO generic. Believe me I have asked many pharmacy's. The new ones, thanks to our junkies out there, don't work! Now I get to be in pain 24/7. Have been on 240 mg morphine sulphate per day for 6 yrs and of course is not doing as best as it used to for me to function in my daily life. I want to ask for a conversion to an oxycodone type med since I have been accumulated to that before..I have the back syndrome of HANDS OFF by every doc since 2004 to present. I take 24 mg subutux, I was told to stop taking it 2 days prior to surgery an was prescribed 10 mg oxycodone 4 times a day for withdrawel. I has surugery yesterday and was told to double the oxygen and take 20 mg every 4 hours. l I can not sleep I am in withdrawel and in agony. ## Did you contact your doctor? The Buprenorphine in Subutex is a very strong narcotic opiate, so you might not be on a high enough dosage of the Oxycodone to actually help. I can understand their not wanting you to take it for surgery, but did they say why they didn't want you going back on it afterwards? It can handle pain and would have avoided these types of problems. ## I feel awful for you have you told them yet...if so go to the er!

My PM MD just prescribed Oxycontin 15mg 3x to replace the too-many hydro & oxycodone pills I've been taking for severe back/hip pain. Just saw a UM surgeon who says surgery is not an option; its scoliosis and arthritis. Anyway, I've called over 10 pharmacies, including CVS and Wal-Green 24 hr. locations - and NOBODY has any Oxycontin. Having to call all over the place makes you feel like a degenerate junkie - when you mention the drug the phone goes silent. I'm simply trying to find relief and stop killing my liver! I am currently on 4 30mg oxycodone ir a day and 2 2mg dillaudid a day. I've had 2 major surgeries and I'm I'm only 24 and day in day out in extreme constant pain. My question is would switching to OxyContin the new formula be as effective? Does it have the same euphoria or is it less effective than what I'm on? 39 year old male, I've been taking 20mg of OxyContin twice a day for almost a year do to chronic back pain. I am not addicted but rather dependent and I never take more than I'm prescribed. The result of this is my testosterone has tanked to levels that a woman has and I determined that I'm going to quit. My pain doctor said he could wean me down, but I shouldn't have any problems with the low dose I've been taking. I tried to go 24hrs without taking a 20mg and began getting severe chills and kind of achy all over. I have been taking Oxycontin extended relief in low doses for about 24 years I believe. I started out taking 20mg 3 time per day. Today I take 60 mg 3 times a day and still get enough relief from chronic pain to be active. I am cutting my self back to 40 mg 3 times per day with my doctors permission. However my longtime doctor suddenly passed away and now I have no doctor to continus my prescriptions. My health plan is Kaiser and they will not help ,me. I also have Medicare but they will not help with oxycontin either. I pay for my own medicine but need a compassionate doctor to help me.

Hello, friends! I started the Fentanyl patch 100mc today after OxyContin treatment my highest dose was 80OP up to 4 per 24 hours. I suffer from agonizing chronic pain due to severe nerve damage in my feet (medical neglect and misdiagnosed 3 years ago). Please help, I'm out of my 80mg. Oxycontins, I take 3 a day and I take Between 4-8 Norco's for break thru pain. With insurance change, they want $300 for RX plus a $250 deductible up front for name brand medication. This is Blue Sheild PPO by: "Covered California" and I pay them $536.22 a month for their coverage. I only need this month to be covered as my husband gets new coverage from his new job in 10 days. My husband and I are having a debate...I take 80mg of oxycontin SR three times daily. Does my narcotic blood level stay at a steady 80mg or 240mg daily? ## Well, it isn't going to say at any 'steady' level, because it's always going to vary somewhat, due to activity, fluid intake, what you eat and etc. But since the doses are split you essentially always have some processing out, when you're adding more, so you'd be looking at close to the 80mgs. I found a little yellow pill with the imprints TCL 224 on it in my sons room. I would like to know what it is. I asked one of my friends and he said it was a generic oxycontin 40 mg. I looked it up and couldn't find anything on it.
