I have been on 10mg oxycontin hcl for several years (for Stiff person syndrome & migraine). I take 4 or 5 per day. I Just got my prescription filled yesterday and notice that started having chills real bad. Has anyone else had this problem before? ## It sounds like withdrawal symptoms to me? I been on all types of opiates and in some cases really high doses. now I'm back down to a reasonable dose of pain meds long acting oxy an 15mg 4aday Roxy ir for breakthrough. I'm supposed to have it in my system around the clock so the oxy 12hr med is not working at all it seems to me. I'm not a junkie so I have not ever been on the Actiq any mcg fentanyl lollipops an I see ppl saying how 1pop can last them on an off for a day but I'd like to switch the 2 20mg oxycontin for an equal amount of the say 400mcg lollipops an the 4oxycodone 15mg that do help my pain an get me through my day. My doctor recently put me on Oxycontin 15mg (twice daily) and he said that it would take a week for the medicine to reach its full potential. After taking the medicine as recommended by my doctor, it still has no affect on my back pain at all. Does it really take that long to kick in or should I contact my doctor? I have CHRONIC back pain(was hit be a truck 8 yrs ago. Are their any of old OC's being distributed, that's long acting OC's. I was taking 80 mg of OC for 8 years they were great. I've been prescribed OxyContin and Roxycodone for 5 years now due to bilateral bone deformities as well as having no cartiledge in both feet. The medicine has been a blessing. About 6 weeks back, I wasn't feeling well, and was taking only half the amount of medicine rx'ed for about 5 days because I'd had at couple of days of severe upper stomach pain along with vomiting. After a few days it calmed down and went away. The 3rd and final bout though, was much more severe, the same stomach agony and this time, more intense projectile vomiting. It was so bad I couldn't sleep or move. My question is, can this be related? Could this be yet another symptom of withdrawal? If it is ETH is made by Ethex pharmaceuticals and to be sure what it contains, you will need to post back and provide the complete imprint that is on the tablet. That is the only way to identify the ingredients. There is also no such things as Roxicontin, the correct names would be Oxycontin, which contains Oxycodone in a time released formulation or Roxicodone, which contains Oxycodone in a regular release formulation. The said, Ethex does make several of these, if it has the numbers 446 on it, with the ETH, it contains 30mgs of the regular release. this is a little light blue round pill with a m printed on it and underlined ## I can't possibly list them all, there are far too many on the market. It is the imprint that identifies them. Can you post back with the markings on the tablet in question? There is one that has an M in a box on one side and a 30 on the opposite side of the pill, it is light blue. There is another in a darker blue, with the M in a square and the numbers 596 on the opposite side. They both contain Oxycodone, but the Oxycontin is time released and Roxicodone is not. As to what your pill is, if there are no markings, it is going to be very difficult to narrow down. If it was a legal, U.S. version of any type of Oxycodone, it would have an imprint of some type on it. By law they have to have markings to enable their identification, in case of emergency. The name brand Oxycontin originally had an OC on one side and a number on the other that denoted the dosage, the new product is almost the same, except the marking has been changed to an OP. This tablet contains 30mgs of Oxycodone, generic for Roxicodone. This means it is a regular release tablet, were as Contin would signify a time released medication. I've been prescribed a large dose of OxyContin, 360 mgs. per day, + 180 mgs. of Roxycodone per day. Both have been upped over three years for several problems related to my bones, and now cancer. I get terrified that I'll lose them and if I do, will the Drs. replace them? If not, what would be prescribed to get me through the withdrawals?
