Oxycodone Docs
35 Topics FoundI have been taking oxycodone 10-325 for 8 years with no problem and my pain was managed well. But I had to change Pain Management docs and the new doc has Added (not replaced) Opana 7.5 ER to my monthly script. Thoughts on this? ## It is a normal practice to try to help someone get better pain control by adding a time released medication, such as the Opana ER, while using the regular released one for breakthrough pain. Have you tried taking it, yet? The FDA warns that narcotic analgesics carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. ## It is correct that two types of painkillers by working together yet working differently Does help with the pain better. I take 2x a day MS Contin ER 100mg, one in morning...
Would like to know where to get a prescription filled for 100 Oxycodone 30ml ## Why go to Mexico to get them or ordering them from there? I get 150 of them each month from my pain management DR.. If you suffer from severe pain you may be started on the 15MG Oxy's for a few months then raised to the 30MG tablets. If you aren't needing them for pain but just want them for recreational use then you may have a hard time getting them since the DEA had nothing better to do in 2012 than hassle DR.'s and restrict their schedule 2 prescribing ability for those type of drugs. However, if you have real pain issues and have your past records to give to the doc, that helps save the docs rear end cause he can show proof the patient has severe pain issues. NO MATTER what, don't even me...
I am currently taking 30mg oxycodone 4x daily. I have failed back surg syndrome and many other herniated discs in most levels of entire spine. The recent CDC crackdown is effecting the way docs in Arizona write for opiods here. No one wants to write for immediate release oxycodone (from what I've heard, it's due to people overdosing, selling them, and abusing them). I happen to be someone who takes them as prescribed, and I'm being punished bc of the "others who've screwed it up for ppl like me". My new pain management doc wants to move me to Fentanyl Patches (25mcg @ 10/month), Opana ER 10mg quantity of 60/mo, AND morphine ER (not sure of dose). This seems excessive, and that's where I'm going with this. I'm on Medicare with no Rx coverage. My 30mg o...
I just moved to Beaumont and need to find a good pain management doc willing to prescribe Oxy. I am already on Fentanyl patches, with a spinal stimulator, and that does not control the pain. Also, if docs here won't prescribe Oxycodone what are they alternatives that really work? It is the only thing that has worked for me that doesn't make me sick. I've been in constant pain for 3 months now. I'd prefer someone who takes Blue Cross Blue Shield. ## I was wondering if you found a doctor out here? I'm looking for the same thing and that's the only thing that helps the pain. ## We've moved since then, but Adrian C Dumitru did a fairly thorough job and was willing to prescribe oxy and fentanly. Ironically, his office building is hard to access without a wheelchai...
still oxycodone shortage in south florida?I may be relocating in the next six mos. or so.So many having difficulty lately.Im wondering if when a patient is told by pharmacist they are out stock, really they ran them through the new rx tracking system & found at one time or another they had seen other Docs etc.and just say there out to avoid conflict. It seems if s fl docs are still writing scripts some place somewheres gotta be filling them!! At least thats what I keep telling myself........... ## Hello, Patriciag! How are you doing? Sorry about the problem that you're having. There are actually 2 different issues contributing to your east coast shortage. One is that a major pharmaceutical distributor was forced to discontinue their service, due to their being brought under suspic...
I am being changed from 50mch every 48 hrs and 40 mg of hydrocodone a day to oxycodone and the doc only gave me 15 mg three times a day ir release and i am hurting bad. I have a feeling this is not even close to what i am use to. What should i do or say to my doc. I am working with the va military docs which are very strict. ## So you were on a Fentanyl patch that you changed every 48 hours and the Hydrocodone and they've now cut you down to 15mgs of Oxycodone 3 times a day? There's really no way this is going to work, you're going from a time release patch of the most potent narcotic available, down to just 45mgs a day of Oxycodone and that's not even taking the additional Hydrocodone into account. Did they say why they made the switch? Learn more Oxycodone details here...
My docs office sent in my prescription for 10 oxycodone. Walmart says they are waiting for prior authorization. From my insurance? What if that is not given? Would the pharmacy allow me to pay out of pocket? Or is that considered addict behaviour? This is not a med I'm trying to fill early. ## Yes, you should be given that option, as long as you aren't trying to get it early, which you have already stated you are not doing. My husband was recently out of a medication, and they said our insurance said it wasn't time for a fill, yet, but we were welcome to purchase as much as he needed, out of pocket, to make sure he didn't run out, until they authorized it. Unfortunately, sometimes, insurance companies can be very strict about prior authorization, and not take into accoun...
So I am trying a mailorder service through my pain management doctor. The insurance is $400 annual fee and .88 cents per/ for my oxycodone prescription. The insurance agent at my Docs office said that I will get my card in the mail in a week, then I print out the order form overnite it with my prescription and they overnite it back taking a total from beginning to end 10-14 days. I am optimistic since i have had my script for almost 90 days and still haven't filled. My doc just keeps saying do the mailorder, mailorder, mailorder its like they dont even want to use local pharmacies for that matter. ## I am sure there are reasons they don't recommend your using a local pharmacy, for instance, if you look around this site, you will find numerous posts from people that have been una...
I'm on the fentanyl 50 transdermal gel patch and am not sure why they have chosen to put me on it so quickly. Can anyone shed some light for me on this subject? My PCP had me on a sript of 120mg oxycodone..skipped lortab.. anyway I was only having to take about 90mg of that oxy to maintain my pain from bulging disks and herniated disk in my neck. I had been self medicating for the pain since I had no insurance and finally got some. The docs are at odds that I may also have fibromialgia. Regardless, it was working pretty well and a pain mngmt doc came to the clinic and had a 1 time assesment of all patient with chronic pain issues and said I should be on the 25mg patch ...didn't work. Went to 50 patch and was fine for about 2.5 months and no, again, not working. Why can't I j...

Filed under OxycodoneI'm moving to south Carolina from Florida and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to a new Pain Management Clinic where I can continue getting the same prescriptions wrote to me: 30 mg Oxycodone and xanax 2mg...thanks for your time :) ## Hi, Lis! How are you? Have you found a doctor, yet? If not, can you please post back with the general location where you'll be residing? Florida is pretty big and you'll probably get more help if you can be a little more specific. Thanks! ## no, im moving to South Carolina...I know plenty of docs in Florida. I just need a dr in Charleston south Carolina area, thanks for ur help :-) ## Did you find Doctor yet cause I'm trying to find a dr to write me pain meds after my accident left me in severe back pain. so let...
I have legit issues with MRI's to back them up. My doctor was not so legit. I am looking for a doctor that prescribes Oxycodone in Suffolk NY. ## Hi Andrew, any luck finding a doc in Suffolk? My doc got shut down & now all his patients are screwed. Most of the offices ive tried will not take his patients. Depending on who your doctor was, (if it wasn't the same one I was seeing) I have some names of docs I can give you that may help. ## I also live Suffolk L.I, but I am willing to travel. Anything for some help. I have severe RSD. I'm barely hanging on. Spent last week in the hospital and I only have a few days left of fentanyl. If there is a good doctor you or anyone knows of, please help. Reply with a name or email me {edited for privacy}. Thank You ## Is anyone helpin...
I have a very bad neck injury and I'm taking 4 x 10mg oxycodone a day for pain. I've moved to Springfield recently and all of the doctors offices tell me "Oh, our policy is never to prescribe narcotics." Even the hospitals won't prescribe it and have a family practice docs list and at the bottom of the page the disclaimer states none of the above doctors will prescribe narcotics. I need help anyone know a good doctor with in 200 miles of Springfield Mo. who will prescribe oxycodone? ## I can provide you with links that may help you in your search for pain management doctors that specialize in prescribing narcotics; however, there really is no way anyone can know ahead of time what these doctors are or are not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's...
I have been on Oxycodone 5mg, up to 3x's a day, but I only have taken 2 caps daily. I have had many back surgeries, fought cancer, struggling with Fibro and now docs say I might have Parkinson's... I did manage to order liquid, but it caused More pain.. Can anyone help explain why?? Thank you...I just don't understand.. ## Here in FL, our Walgreens is a co-op, so I took my script to K-Mart and I will have it by mid of week.. So glad I did.. I am about done with Walgreens...ugh ## I'm sorry that you were having trouble getting your medication. However, back order is usually just due to demand exceeding the supply. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, d...
I have been changed from 140mgs oxycodone to 40 x 2 mgs Oxycontin. I had so much more pain control with the Oxycodone but doc wants me on a ER medication and one for breakthrough. I feel a huge difference with the Ocycontin, not in a good way. Would like to go back to what I was taking as the relief was superior. The Oxycontin I barely feel any relief. How can that be? BTW, have two herniated disc, one completely gone so bone on bone, spinal stenosis at two levels. Sciatica. Again with all the new laws I feel like I have to be grateful to get anything? 52 years old, and docs always thinking you're looking for something. The history is clear, I just want relief, but feel asking for it makes them think your a "seeker". ## Hello, Linette! How are you doing? I'm sorry, but I...
Looking for a doc who prescribes in the Tacoma, Seattle area. Someone who understands chronic pain and doesn't treat you like a drug addict when I have genuine pain and can't function without it. Please help. ## Hi, Lucy! Sorry that you're in pain and miserable. However, in this general area, your best for getting the help you need is to see a pain management specialist. Most general practitioners and clinics are now refusing to prescribe such medications and only referring people to a pain specialist. Do you have a GP that could refer you somewhere? Learn more Oxycodone details here. ## Google pain clinic port townsend......I'm in kitsap my doc Is amazing but if I put the docs name on the internet every cluck would be running in there ## Hey kobainnobrain I'm in kit...
Seven years of back pain with long history of muscle relaxant and more recently oxycodone and lorazepam. Docs finally did MRI and found Spondylolisthesis Grade 3-4 with bulging disc and appears vertebrae have already fused. Still being worked up by Neuro surgeon. Pain mgmt. just switched me from 10mg Vicodin every 4 hrs to 25mcg Fentanyl patch every 3 days with 7.5 Vicodin every 6-8 hrs for breakthrough. Started patch last week. First seemed to work okay but over the last two patches breakthrough pain has increased with increased pain down my legs. I get sweats then chills with pain in all my joints, arms, legs, hands, feet. Seems increasing my Vicodin and taking it more frequently is the only thing that relieves it but sometimes need 30mg of Vicodin in a short time-frame. Not sure if t...
I'm suffering tremendously, and my friend said they knew of a great doctor in Howell, NJ who is one of the few who is still brave enough to prescribe for pain management without much of a hassle. They forgot and cannot locate his/her name, unfortunately. Please help? ## can i ask did you find a dr in Howell or close by as I am in a very bad situation of pain ## Ditto the above. Bedridden 20yrs. Toms River area. Pls respond if anyone knows ANYONE, ANYWHERE! Have all docs, MRIs, Drs.' Files, etc. Blame the bad drug-dealing Drs. prescribing to non-sufferers for repeat business, brought these laws so that all Drs. now are scared.... ## You can find a doctor who will prescribe some other alternative to oxycodone... Meds like morphine, dialaudid. I agree with you oxycodone is an amazin...
I am from Bakersfield,ca and my current dr. stop to prescribing Roxicodone or oxycodone and Xanax to me I am looking for another doctor who will prescribe these types of medications to me and in a larger quantity I can only get 50 at a time once every 10 to 20 days I'm looking for 90 to 120 prescription pills once or twice a month because I travel out of town and it's not enough now I am just out cold turkey!! I don't wanna turn to street drugs!! :( can anyone help ASAP?! Thanks ## Hello Court! How are you? Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see specialists. A PCP will not be able to prescribe them for you. There are also limits on how many they can prescribe, so your m...
My pain mgmt. person is taking me off of Lyrica due to it being highly addictive. I am 64 and have been on this med, in conjunction with Oxycodone 10mg, since it was on the market. Is it true that ALL pain mgmt. doctors are no longer prescribing Lyrica? It works so well for dealing with the severe stenosis problems I have. ## Hello Lory, Short answer is no, not all pain management doctors have stopped prescribing lyrica. What I will say is that the number of doctors refusing to prescribe these types of medication is growing due to the much stronger enforcement of opiods and other addictive prescription drugs. The reasoning for this is due in large part to the government's increasing regulation of the market. This crack down is in response to what people are calling the "opioid c...
