Has anybody heard of M 30 oxycodone being reformulated? My mother has been on oxycodone for quite a while now and recently had an rx filled and had a few M's that almost instantly swell up and turn into mush when she takes them. I have been taking 60mg ms contin extended release 3 times a day + 30mg oxycodone immediate release 4 times a day. Recently my doctor changed the oxycodone to morphine 30mg immediate release. Does anyone know if 2 15mg morphine tabs would be equal to 1 30mg oxycodone. Both are immediate release. I have been on the 30's but due to my upcoming surgery my Dr. feels that I need stronger pain med's. So a friend of mine was trying to tell me that they make a 60,80 and 100mg IR oxycodone. Not ER oxycontin but IR, I told him he was crazy the highest mg they make for IR is the 30mg Roxicodone. He said they do make them in pill form but choose not to tell us about them because of the already crack down on opioids. My dr switched my oxycodone 30mg to dilaudid 8 mg. I am wondering how they compare to one another? ## Based on my research, Dilaudid is much stronger then Oxycodone, but it doesn't last very long in it's immediate release formula. Oxycodone has an extended release formula (Oxycontin); which may be better suited for some people when used chronically for long term pain relief. 8mg of Dilaudid is "roughly equivalent" to 20mg of Oxycodone.
