I'm prescribed 15 mg adderalls. I always get the name brand (blue/white capsules) which have orange beads. For some reason, the pharmacist gave me a generic version (orange pills)with white beads inside. This is the second time this happens in the last year and both times I noticed the beads were white and the generic brand seems to have quite a bit less beads than the name brand. I thought they were supposed to both be equal just different name brands. Why does the generic brand with white beads have less beads than the name brand which has the orange beads? The reason I bothered to check and I'm concerned is because last time I got the generic kind, they seemed less effective and like I was taking a lower dose. In my regular prescription for Adderall XR, I opened a few of the capsules and found only white beads. (They've always been orange/white.) Also, they were much larger in comparison. Am I getting a placebo? They taste very sweet and had no noticible effects after I took one. Would like to know what color the beads inside the capsule look like? ## @Nikki, Just curious, why is the color of the beads so important if you're obtaining your Adderall legally with a valid prescription? If you have to question the bead color in order to determine if it's real then I think you should probably throw it away. I don't know about the 25mg bead color, but the 20mg generic amphetamine + detroamphetamine extended release blue capsule from Actavis contains white beads. I've also heard about Adderall capsules containing peach colored beads as well as combinations of orange and white together. If you have one why not open it up to find out?

I recently got R3060 blue caps. They have like an orange bead color, but I keep hearing it's supposed to be white powder or just white. I need to know what color/colors the beads themselves come in. Adderall 20 mg xr (blue capsule) with r3060 on it. This has white beads in it. Is this normal because the orange capsules have orange and white beads in it. ## I can't seem to find a photograph of the pill, but I can confirm that your blue capsule imprinted with "R 3060" is identified as Amphetamine + Dextroamphetamine extended release 20 mg. These ones are manufactured by Actavis Elizabeth LLC, so yes, they are real. Manufacturers can also change the look of a pill without any prior notice. So it's difficult to say whether or not these blue ones are commonly prescribed among the other color(s). I have blue capsules that say adderall xr 30 mg on them but they have only white beads. Is this generic or brand? And how are these different from the orange 30 mg adderall xr with the white and orange beads? ## @Ricky, When you switch between different manufacturers, the only noticeable thing I'm aware of that actually changes are the inactive ingredients (binders/fillers), so that could be one reason why the beads are different colors - different dyes? As to whether or not it's a generic or brand that you have, my research shows that the orange 30mg pill marked with "Adderall XR" is indeed a brand name and not generic. The blue capsule on the other hand is also reported to be brand name Adderall XR... however, I'm seeing conflicting information from Shire Pharmaceu...

I just got some with orange and clear capsule no imprint with orange and white balls on the inside. Are they fake? ## They are not a legal U.S. prescription Adderall. They are all required to have an imprint to enable their identification. That said, this is most likely an over the counter product. I have some vitamin C capsules that match this description. I'll keep looking to see if I find any other possibilities.
