Opanas
62 Topics FoundI have been prescribed opana 40mg for almost two yrs. I really wanted to be optimistic about the new formula but it does not work! Very little to no pain relief from these plastic pills! Now I'm spending sooo much time online looking for an alternative, but not having much luck. Nothing out there equivalent? How could Endo turn a great med into the worst?? I understand the need to make safer, but this is crazy...extreme! Why make them at all? Can anyone suggest a medication that I can switch to?? ## Have you talked to your doctor? You might be able to try an equal dosage of Oxycontin, though most users of it have similar complaints due to the reformulation. I think the only option left that hasn't been changed recently is Ms Contin, which contains a time released formulation of ...
are the crush proof 40mg opanas out yet ## are the crush proof 40mg opanas out yetorbne ## Yes, they do appear to have been recently made available in the new formulation. However, some pharmacies may still be experiencing a backlog, due to the fact that the supply was short for awhile and many people were waiting to get their prescriptions filled. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I noticed the label on my last refill for opana 40mg for the 1st time stated "the color & shape of this medication may be different from what you have been getting, but still works the same as your previous med." Upon checking, some pills were the same hexigonal shaped yellow pills i had been getting and the remaining pills were the same color but were round and were almost like rubber...
These are both opiates, but is there any specific difficulties in mixing these two meds? ## There are actually interactions found between Morphine and Opana. Specifically related to the central nervous system: "Central nervous system- and/or respiratory-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients. During concomitant use of these drugs, patients should be monitored for potentially excessive or prolonged CNS and respiratory depression." Also to note, Morphine interacts with alcohol in a somewhat similar manner: "The central nervous system-depressant effects of morphine and alcohol may be additive. The combination may result in additive CNS-depression ...

were can i get my opana scripts filled in the pittsburgh area ## The best place that seems to have a consistent supply of RX pain meds in Pgh is Asti's in the Sourh Hills. They never seem to give me a problem and always have stock of everything. Bonus is the pharmacist (Dan) is very friendly and never gives me a hard time ## You should probably check the place that Congo has mentioned. Otherwise, it is probably just a matter of time, before most pharmacies have them in stock, again. Opana was recently reformulated, so there was a slight shortage, due to the delay in production. Does anyone else have any suggestions?
I hav ben going to a pain clinic for quiet some time and have tried so many combinations of pain meds tht I'm about to give up. I've had 2 back surgeries and need another one but I refuse. I have heard tht the ( old) formulation of opanas are hitting the shells as a generic and I'm curious if anyone wood hav n e info. Thanks. Bigbird ## No, they wouldn't be hitting as a generic. They can still be dispensed to fill prescriptions, until a pharmacy runs out of any supply they already had on hand, but once they are gone, that's it. Learn more Opana details here. What is relevant here, however, is that the generics have not been reformulated, yet. Thus, if you're having a problem with the name brand, then you should ask your doctor to prescribe the generic or specific...
Looking for a Pain Doctor in North Carolina to prescribe me my medicine Opanas er so I can continue to support my family. I broke my neck in 2010. Due to Hospital not doing xray because they assumed that I was there for pain medicine (ironic, huh) but went 3 times in a 6 week period. Finally my wife took me to another hospital and lied, told them I had been in an accident. Immediately sponsored MRI. I was flown to CMC for immediate operation. Now my C2, C3, C4 were ate up with infection. I left the hospital on alot of medicine. I'm narrowing it all down to the extended release only. But the pain doctor that I just started seeing, puts me on this other narcotic. It's been 6 years and I finally know what works. Then my doctor retired and left me starting from day 1. I don't wa...

heard they stopped making opanas? 2/21/12 has anyone heard this? starting to panic!!!!!!!!!! ## Yes Opana is discontinued ## Actually no, there is not listing with the U.S. FDA saying that this medication has been discontinued, although two of the strengths of the name brand, the 7.5mg and the 15mg were discontinued as of the Spring of last year. Does anyone have an actual government information website showing otherwise? ## The story in NY is that they have o investigate why the opana got into the excedrin bottles in the first place. Vey where I go they says the ops as no matter what strength are on back order. I don't know how they are going to pump out enough to fill an entire country. My doc changed me to OxyContin 80 and oxycodone 30 for now which I think will be for a long tim...
Has anyone else found that the "New" Opanas are not as effective as the old ones for pain control? I have post herpetic trigeminal neuralgia. I am hoping that the generics will be like the old ones. This is crazy. ## Unfortunately yes, there have been quite a few people complaining about the reformulated ones, even though they are new. The problems seem to range from their causing odd side effects, to their not being as effective, as you've experienced. Learn more about the Opana details here. As far as I am aware, at this time, the generics have not been reformulated, yet. However, this could change at any given time, or the FDA might cause them to be done away with altogether, in similar fashion to Oxycontin. Have you talked to your doctor about the issue? Or maybe asked y...

How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. What you need to do is just set up an appointment with a new doctor and then discuss your treatment options, at the appointment. If you ask for a specific medication, ahead of time, that's most likely going to be viewed as being drug seeki...
I need to find a doctor who will prescribed me opanas and oxycodone for my back pain in or around Knoxville,Tennessee ## I need a doctor who will write pain meds for severe back pain in east TN ## Hello, Darin! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. However, there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe, or if they will or will not prescribe medications, that I can refer to for you. Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis for the treatment of chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that may be able to refer you to someone? These medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side eff...
Does anyone know if there is a shortage of the generic opanas? My pharmacy said they can't get the moons or the g from two different suppliers. I am in the Knoxville area. ## Hello, Cowboy! How are you? I'm sorry that you're having a problem finding your medication. Actually, there is usually a shortage for the last few months of the year, due to mandatory manufacturing limits. Once a manufacturer reaches their allotted yearly limit, they cannot manufacture any new product, until after the new year. Every year, demand exceeds supply and we end up with a shortage. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. The best suggestion I can make is to speak to ...

Does anyone know of pain clinics that take out of state patients? Also looking to get put on opanas, or something like that. Been on loratab 1000's for 15 years and they don't do the job anymore. I realy hope someone out there knows someplace in GA or TN. Hope to hear from you soon and thanks. ## First off, there are no Lortab tablets that contain 1,000mgs of anything. And next is a question, why aren't you looking in your home state? Even if you do find a doctor that will treat you, when you're from out of state, most pharmacies will not fill your prescription under such circumstances. ## I am looking for a pain management dr in the Saginaw area who takes out of state claims from New Jersey, I' m thinking about relocating from Delaware. I got hurt in 93 and have bn ...
