Opana Er 40 Mg

I have been taking Opana er 40mg for over a year. My last refill was April 12, i was given a round pill with 40 on one side and E on the back. I am in constant pain! Any suggestions, I take 3 per day with 10/325 percocets 4x day. The pharmacy told the Dr. i must have been crushing my pills - i wasn't. I'm not crazy, these pills don't work. ## The Opana time released tablets were recently reformulated, with the intent to make them harder to abuse. Unfortunately, just as with the OxyContin reformulation, this has caused problems for some people, such as unusual side effects, or the medication not working as well as it used to. How do I stop taking opana er40 mg. I also take 10/325 Percocet. Should I try cutting down month to month or go to a rehab and have that instant detox done while I'm under? ## How much are you taking? Are you actually addicted and abusing them, or are you just taking them via a doctor's prescription and not taking more than prescribed? i wanted to get some more feedback regarding Opana 40 mg ER and any side affects that you may have. I have two herniated disc's L4-L5 & L5/S1 & I have stonisis of the spine as well.. I am only 39yrs old and my pain management Doctor referred me to this type of pain medication since I am way to young to have back surgery. I am currently on my second steroid IV of dexamethasone which is a series of 3 intravenous doses and they have done nothing so far with the inflammation. I have been taking Generic Hydrocodone 10/325 2 pills 3 times a day and it's not helping so my doctor put me on Opana starting tomorrow, 40mgs twice a day. what happens if u put water on it? ## It gets wet. ## If you just get it damp/moist, it will start to dissolve the outer coating of the tablet. This should not be done, however, as it could result in the medication being released to quickly, resulting in an overdose. Opana is a narcotic pain medication, so it must be used very carefully and should only be taken as instructed by your doctor. Are there any other questions?

My pain specialist switched me from 100mcg of fentanyl to 40mg 2 times a day of opana ER. Was this the right conversion? I went through withdrawal for 3 weeks and I'm still in a lot of pain. ## Fentanyl is currently the stronger opiate available, so no, it is not equivalent and it is normal to experience withdrawals and rebound pain for awhile, according to FDA reports. I have been prescribed Opana ER 40 mg three times a day, since 2003. In the last two months it has become unavailable from the manufacturer, you. I have been able to substitute 20 mg ER and it works, just more pills. Now they have become unavailable, and it hurts. You can't just stop taking this medication. I'm sure you know after eight years you go thru withdrawals on top of the pain. if i was taking approx 80mgs of norco (10/325) 3x a day what would the equal dose of 40mg opana er be? ## this is only posted because my doc has takenen me off the norcos and i dont want to feel the effects of withdrawl...i would rather wean myself but need to know where to start!! ## The Oxymorphone in the Opana is much stronger than the Hydrocodone in the Norco, so it would only take 26.67mgs of it a day to equal the 80mgs of Hydrocodone in the Norco that you were taking. I was on Opana 40 2 x daily plus 10 mg of oxymorphone hcl every 6 hrs. Since the recent changes, I have been switched to Arymo 60 2x daily and still take the 10 mg oxymorphone every 6 hrs. The Arymo does not seem to be working well. Is there something else that I can ask for that will help with the pain? I too am awake most of the night tossing and turning due to pain. I'm quiting Opana using Suboxone. I've gradually come down from Opana ER 40 mg to 10 mg over a period of 6 months, and am switching today to Suboxone film. Dr told me to wait 24 to 36 hrs before starting Subs (wait till I can't stand the withdrawals any longer). Normally on 10 mg Opana I start to feel withdrawals within 12 hrs, can't get comfortable in my skin, can't sleep, restless leg etc. Problem is I ran out of 10 mg yesterday so the single last Opana I took was an ER 40 mg. I was just prescribed this medicine and do not feel very comfortable taking it. I would like to know if any one has tried this drug and how did it work. Is 1 to 2 tabs daily too much? Feel I need it twice daily ## Which one are you referring to? The Opana? If so, this is a very potent narcotic pain medication, containing Oxymorphone and it can be dangerous to exceed the recommended dosage prescribed by your doctor, you run the risk of overdose and causing permanent organ damage. If it is not controlling your pain, you should speak to your doctor about a dosage adjustment or possibly using a different medication. I would like to know why Opana ER is so powerful? It comes in 10, 20, 30, & 40 mgs.
