Generally, it's not recommended to try to treat possible side effects with another medication, because they all carry the risk of causing side effects, so you can just end up compounding the problem. The Olanzapine is an antipsychotic and it is well known to cause these types of side effects, so it may be the culprit. He really needs to speak to his doctor, because it may be too high of a dosage for him and he may require a switch to a lower dosage or a different medication. Both the Escitalopram and the P...

Hi to all. I took Olanzapine 10mg for 6 Yrs & suffered a very strange & worrying side effect due to the Drug. After 3 Months of taking it, I literally stopped sleeping any more than 2 hours a night, characterized by no sleepiness prior to sleep onset (just blacked out) & no feelings of fatigue either physically or mentally despite days without sleep. I also had no drug effect from multiple Drugs, such as Alcohol, even after drinking 2 Litres of strong Wine, rather just no respiratory depression (very worrying), virtually no intoxication & no bodily effects such as warming effect, gate change (Cerebellar). I became so worried & distressed by this that I set out to withdraw from all Drugs & Alcohol in the hope that the fore mentioned extremely strange & bafflin...

My husband has just been prescribed symbyax. He has very bad mood swings. His psychiatrist prescribed this medication to help with them. However, I am very worried after reading posts on weight gain and sleepiness. He drives a truck. ## Symbyax contains Fluoxetine and Olanzapine, it combines an antidepressant and an antipsychotic, it is mainly used to treat depression that has been resistant to other medications, or depression associated with bipolar disorder. Its typical side effects can include weight gain, drowsiness, headache, and mood changes. [1] As to his driving, it might depend on your state laws, many have restrictions on what medications a driver can take while working. Is he on any other medications?

These medications haven't been known to cause any issues with men and their sperm count, so there shouldn't be any problem. how to get off Olanzapine drug. What other non addictive medication or nutrients can be taken to ameliorate the side effects of olanzapine withdrawal. ## Hi Elizabeth, Have you ever considered trying medical marijuana as a means of helping you get over much of those withdrawal symptoms? If anything, I think it could at least help you cope mentally and emotionally with it until the other symptoms begin to subside. That is just my theory based on personal experience. But I know everyone reacts and responds different to treatment, so perhaps it would be best to discuss this with your doctor if your state is one that allows the use of cannabis?

I have gone cold turkey off 2.5 mg Olazanpine 7 days ago. I am suffering with side effects such has heaviness, tingling in hands, fatigue. How long before some of these subside and I start to feel a bit better? ## Hello, Dono! How are you doing? Has there been any improvement, yet? How long were you taking it? Depending on the length of time you were on it, it may take a few weeks for all the withdrawal effects to subside, though they should ease off slowly in severity. Other withdrawal effects, as listed by the FDA, may include fever, chills, diarrhea and rebound depression.

does olanzapine contain opiates ## Nope - no opiates in Zyprexa... however there is a very small benzo component - small enough that a benzo addiction/withdrawal issue would be almost impossible. To my knowledge, this med contains no narcotics or otherwise chemically addictive ingredients. ## That is correct, Olanzapine is the active ingredient, it is used to mental health disorders, such as schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, sedation, somnolence, and weight gain. Has this been prescribed for you? ## If I put raw opium up my rectum will it work better than smoking it? ## What would make you even think of that ? I think you need to stop smoking it ! You might be alittle burned out.
