to stop periods ## I have been prescribed 2 5mg Norethisterone tablets 3 times. I was given the tablets to stop a period which I'd had for a fortnight which involved really heavy 'flooding'. This has resulted in my ankles swelling for which my Gp has given me water tablets. I am now feeling sick everyday. Is 6 tablets a day the normal dose? I was given enough tablets for about a month. ## This is a hormone that is often used to prevent pregnancy, or help regulate them, when someone experiences irregular bleeding. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight changes, and PMS-like symptoms. Linda, it is hard to say, most medications can cause nausea, and vomiting as side effects. What water tablet did the doctor prescribe for you?

Hi. I have irregular menses..the doctor prescribed me with sunolut 5mg (2 tablets per day for 5 days). I also want to get pregnant. Since my menses were delayed by 30 days, doctor advised I take the sunolut. I have been experiencing abnormal bleeding and my doctor prescribed me Norethisterone for 21 days starting 21 March. The dosage indicated 2 tablets 2 times a day for 21 days. However, I don't know why I heard the pharmacist as saying 1 tablet 2 times a day. So from 21 March till just now, I have been taking 1 tablet each time. I have not had a cycle since having my son a year ago. I also have PCOS. I have taken 5mg Norethisterone tablets 3 times a day for 5 days.
