Hi.....Doctor, My doctor advised to take daily a tablet Nefrosave, since I am a patient of DM type 2 & HTN for the last 9 years ...my blood uric acid,creatinine,urea nitragen, lipid profile all normal in range but HTN sometimes 160/85 go & my HbA1C is 8.5. Taking medicines for DM like Galvus Met 50/1000mg = 2 times, Amaryl 3mg = 2 times, 1time Acrose(Glucobay 50mg) just started, for HTN drugs like Co-Diovan 160mg/12.5 1 time, Amlor (amldopine)10mg 1 time, Concur 5mg 1 time, Lipicure 10mg 1 time. Please advise me. Are Nefrosave and acetysteine & taurine of lupinac both good for my mother who is 66yrs old and suffering from a urinary infection? Pls reply. ## Hello, Tanvi! How are you? Was she not placed on an antibiotic? That would be the best thing to help resolve her infection. The U.S. FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. As to those you've mentioned, they are just nutritional supplements, making sure you take enough of them can help support healthy kidney function, but will not do anything to eradicate an existing infection.

I am 47 years male and I have creatinin range 1.5 to 2.0 but blood urea is normal. Am a diabetic for 12 yrs.Controlled sugar level with euglim 2 and cepatin.Creatine level at 1.37 for first time. Prescribed nefrosaveforte 2 tabs per day and eido. Any side effects of alcohol upto 2 pegs per day with nefrosavesave forte. pl let me know

can it be administered to a 76yr patient. there seems to be slight blood in the urine. his hemoglobin is 9gms. or could it be a infection ## Nefrosave contains the active ingredients Acetylcysteine and Taurine. The only actual drug here is the Acetylcysteine, which mainly works as a mucolytic, so it's not going to help with blood in his urine and I am sorry, but I have no information on the safety of administering it to elderly patients. Has his urine been tested to see if he has an infection?
