I took my meds 10 hours ago and I was wondering if I could have 2 glasses of wine? ## Hello, Chela! How are you? No, you should stay away from alcohol while taking prescription medications. This is especially true with the Naproxen, since it may have a detrimental effect on your liver, which can be compounded and made more risky by adding the alcohol, even drinking very little has been known to cause liver failure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Naproxen as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation and increased risk of bleeding. Nucynta is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Alcohol with it can worsen the side effects. Is there...

I am taking Naproxen, Lyrica and Naproxen. I was wondering what would happen if I can a couple of alcoholic drinks ## It would be best to refrain from imbibing, while taking prescription medications. However, if your doctor approves of your doing so, you should be aware that the FDA warns that it could potentiate the side effects, so you may experience more nausea, dizziness and drowsiness, than usual. Thus, please make sure that you will not be driving or operating any dangerous machinery. Is there anything else I can help with?

I'm on T3's and naproxen for my chronic back pain and just found out the implications of the use of alcohol with this medication. I am not an alcoholic, but I do enjoy my beer. I asked my Doctor for a replacement analgesic, but he just canceled my T3's, leaving me only the naproxen, not enough. I'm currently looking for a new Doctor and would appreciate some alternative pain killer suggestions, I'm not allergic to anything, but Im on some anti depresents, buproprion, sertralin, resperidon. ## Your risk is related more to the acetaminophen than the codeine, although your doctor may fear the opiate use more. More people suffered liver failure last year, due to overdoses of acetaminophen than any other single cause, so the risk is real. In any case, 30 mg of codeine is no...

I have really bad back pain and was wondering if you can use hydrocodone acetaminophen 5325 TB for it. And if I can does it have aspirin? ## dwayne yes it is for pain and no it does not have aspirin in it ## What other joint relievers can I use for my back. That I can find over the counter. ## dwayne try aleve, same as naproxen it is over the counter and i find it better than ibuprofen-motrin, you may also try a magnesium supplement, try a bath with 1 cup epsom salt and some sports alcohol to the bath, i know this sounds simple but it works great. the epsom salt has magnesium in it and is absorbed thru the skin when put in the bath, just an old grandma remedy that still works great today. ## @Dwayne, As a former college athlete I can vouch for an Epsom Salt bath being effective for back...
