Ms Contin 10mg
33 Topics Foundcompare Norco 10mg 5 *day with MSContin 15mg 2*day ## The Hydrocodone in the Norco and the Morphine in MS Contin are actually equal in terms of strength, so if you were taking 50mgs a day of the Hydrocodone in the Norco, then you'll need 50mgs a day of the Morphine to equal it for pain control. Learn more Norco details here. Learn more Morphine details here. Thus, you may not get the same pain relief, since you're not taking an equivalent dosage. Are there any other questions or comments? ## So the 50mg/day of Norco I was taking is stronger then the 2 15mg MSContin that the new dr. put me on?

Will the side effects of MS Contin, (eg nausea and tiredness ) subside after time. I have been prescribed 10mg x twice a day but find the sickness and tiredness is still an issue and hope it is temporary and will settle down. ## Hello, Hamish! How are you? Yes, technically they should. Side effects are usually transient and go away, once your body gets used to a medication, but that may take 4 to 5 weeks. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause other side effects, such as dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## If they don't ease off, after that time period, then you should consult your prescriber, as you may need to try a different medication.
I have a spondylolisthesis at L-5. My pain management doctor wants to switch me from 10/325 Oxycodone to ms contin. How much ms contin would give me the same pain relief? ## Hello Bob! How are you doing? You need 1.5mgs of Morphine (MS Contin) for each 1mg of Oxycodone, so 15mgs is equal to each 10mgs and so on. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
Which is stronger? My new insurance won't pay for oxycontin and substituted generic percoset but it doesn't seem to work as well. Is it my imagination? ## Hello, John! How are you? Oxycodone and Oxycontin are the same medication, Oxycontin is just a name brand for the time released version of it, so the 30mgs is stronger, it's just released slowly over an 8 hour period, as compared to the regular release that is released all at once. The FDA classifies it as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. You may want to ask our doctor about possibly trying MS Contin, it is a time released formulation of Morphine that is also available as a generic, so most insura...
Does anyone know the conversion dose when switching from MS Contin 15mg to Opana. The MS no longer works to take the edge off the pain. I have had chronic pain after herniated cervical, lumbar disks, 4 surgeries, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and daytime sleepiness, and osteo-arthritis. I also took 10mg. of morphine IR for breakthrough pain. Now I will take Opana IR. ## Your doctor or pharmacist should handle the conversion of the dosing for you. Has your doctor prescribed it already or made any recommendations? ## You said you have fybromialgia may I ask how long you have had that, I take MS Contin, nerontin, and a few others, but I have never heard of opana. does it work, I have FM and have had it for 3 years. ## I was on Opana before MS Contin and is was not as effective, very hard to...
I previously was on percocet 10mg one 4 times a day..it was no longer working but due to new state and federal regulations my Dr wouldn't give anything stronger and informed me as of 9/1/2016 would no longer treat pain except with Tylenol #3 or Tylenol #4. Like a i**** I tried Tylenol #4 one every 4 hours.....TERRIBLE PAIN. So I was given a referral to a pain Dr and saw on Monday.. today is Thursday. Started on new RX of ms contin 15mg one every 12 hours.....this is rediculous....PAIN IS HORRENDOUS. Have only slept like 3-4 hours a night since Monday. Called pain Dr today and nurse said Dr is out until tomorrow..and that I should give it like 7 days before saying it's not working..and she would tell the Dr on call but she doubted they would just change. The pharmacist I called s...
i take ms contin 30mg and i want something alot stronger. Is diluadid 8 the best for back back or and server pain? Is ms contin the best or is diluadid stronger and better i want something stronger i and better for pain i get 30mg of ms contin with 10mg of norco breakthrogh pain and that does not work. ## yes diluadid is stronger but unless u can afford name brand i would not start taking them the detox has to be done in hospital and they are not going to make generic anymore they just stopped it has been a prob my husband is facing ## just take MS Contin 200mg. it is = to 8mg.diluadid ## you need detox ## Dilaudid is 10 times stronger than morphine. So if you are ordered 8 mg of dilaudid it is equivalent to 80mg of morphine. Keep in mind that it is immediate release. If you take 8mg of...
1pill-2x daily 30mg ms contin & 4-10mg oxycodon is that better than 1new oc (op)30mg 2x daily &4-10mg oxycodone what is better ## The Oxycodone in the Oxycontin is stronger than the Morphine that's in MS Contin, by one and a half times, so it generally requires a lower dosage to achieve the same analgesic effect. Learn more Oxycontin details here. However, what's really of relevance here is discovering what works best for you. If you've been taking the MS Contin with good results, then there's no reason to switch, unless your doctor insists otherwise. How long have you been taking it? Is it helping your pain? ## I HAVE BEEN TAKING MORPHINE SULFATE ER. 60mgs. MY DOCTOR HAS CHANGED ME TO TWO 20mgs OF OXCOTIN OXYCODONE ER. I AM HAVING WITH DRAWLS. WHAT SHOULD I DO G...
I have been taking ms contin 15 mg twice a day for a few months and raking it about 4 or 5 times a day the last 4 days since i ran out of my norco.my pain dr switched me to opana er 10mg every 12 hours and By some miracle i got it filled today i just wondered if i will have withdrawal from the ms contin even though im still taking the norco and opana. I know before my dr told me if i was still taking opiates i would not get any withdrawals but i ran out kf norco before and had only a little ms contin and had a horrible headache and a little stomach ache so i am sure that is not true i am just afraid as i will be travelling in the next 2 days to visit sick relative. ## No, you shouldn't suffer withdrawals with this dosage, because your doctor has actually raised it. You only need 5mg...
I have been taking 60mg ms contin extended release 3 times a day + 30mg oxycodone immediate release 4 times a day. Recently my doctor changed the oxycodone to morphine 30mg immediate release. He also added lyrica 75 mg and I also take baclofen 10mg & amitriptyline 50mg in which i take 2. I'm still in constant pain. I was shot 8 yrs ago and I still hardly feel relief. What will help me? ## Hello, Shy! How are you? Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so the dosages are not equivalent, which likely explains why you are in pain. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. As to the Lyrica, that may take 4 to 5 weeks, before it reaches ...
Am looking for a new pain management doctor who is willing to prescribe ms contin and/or norco 10mg. I suffer from chronic pain: polymyalgia rheumatica, migraines, osteoarthritis, etc and am in need of these to get out of bed. The pain is debilitating. I live near Schaumburg,Illinois. Any suggestions especially from personal experience would be appreciated.
Filed under MS ContinI was given Percocet 10/325 when discharged from the ER for a bulging disc resulting in BIG paun. (Continuing back problems~ degenerative disc disease, old horseback riding injury, etc.) The Neurosurgeon changed my pain med to Roxicodone (oxycodone hcr on bottle) 10 mg. I am ABSOLUTELY NOT getting the same relief from this medication. Can you tell me why? Same stuff only no acetaminophen in Roxicodone right? I am back on the pain train and want to know why. ## Dude, Roxies are the best form of Oxycodone. Be sure you get the name brand, not generic, if you have insurance. Also, their potency decreases the longer they've been on the shelf. If you are in pain round the clock, get OxyContin or MS Contin. ## It's the same! Have you ever thought that Acedeminephen is also alleviating ...
I've been working to reduce my reliance on pain medications with my doctor's help. I've been able to come down from 200mg morphine sulfate to 15mg MS Contin. The doctor said he was happy where I was but I wanted to try and go further. He wrote a script for 10mg Kadian since a lesser dose of MS Contin wasn't available. Unfortunately, my doc's son died suddenly and he's away. I cannot find a pharmacy that is able to fill this prescription. I live in a metro area. He had said if I had trouble filling it thinking my insurance might not cover it to call him and he'd write the script for my old dosage of MS Contin. He's not available and will be out approx. 2 months. He came in to write this month's scripts for his patients but his staff neglected to mentio...
I have been takin 60mg ms contin 3 times a day n 30mg oxycodone immediate release 4 times a day for 8 yrs i have bullet fragments in my spine an nerve damage in my legs my doc recently changed the oxycodone to morphine 30mg immediate release but my pain is still ridiculous what will help me i also take baclofen 10mg amytriptilyn 50mg an recently lyrica 75mg but like i said my pain is still out of control what will help me? ## Hello, Shy! How are you doing? Has there been any change? According to the NIH conversion information for opiates, Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, thus, being switched from 30mgs Oxycodone to 30mgs of Morphine was actually lowering your dose, so it is unsurprising that you are still in pain. The FDA warns that narcotic medications carry th...

MST Continus, the most common brand of morphine sulphate tablet, m/r, are purple with '30' on one side and 'NAPP' on the other. They are biconvex and unscored. There are many other types of morphine but most are capsules. I have heard that in the USA there is a white 30mg morphine i/r tablet but don't know the markings, never having seen one. I have also seen a grey tablet which was claimed to be morphine sulphate m/r. ## Usually, Morphine 30mg is either Maroon or Green. The Brand Name Is Made By Purdue Fredrick Pharmaceuticals, which is Maroon and Side 1 says PF and Side 2 says 30. Here...

I just moved to Fredericksburg/DC Metro area of Virginia from Florida. I have severe chronic spinal pain from bulging lumbar discs, bone spurs, spinal stenosis and scoliosis (in mid/upper spine). My doctor that was treating me in FL had me on 60mg MS Contin 2xday and 10mg Percocet 4xday. Which makes it able for me to function with a lowered amount of pain. I went through 3 other doctors over the years that prescribed too little or too much before I found him. I would like to find a doctor/pain clinic that will prescribe me the same or similar in/around the Fredericksburg/DC Metro area of Virginia as opposed to having to drive back to my Florida doctor every month. Does anyone know of any in these areas?
