I've been taking 45 mill morphine every 6 Hrs for my CRPS about 3 months now. A week ago I started getting sick and severely dizzy to the point of passing out. Does this medicine cause constipation / piles?? Taking these tablets from 7-8 days and now I have constipation. Is it due to the side effect of this medicine? ## sili - I assume you are referring to the drug Morphine, which is an opiate pain reliever. If I am correct, then yes, constipation is a side effect of this and other drugs in the opioid class. " Common side effects include drowsiness, vomiting, and constipation... Side-effects of nausea and constipation are rarely severe enough to warrant stopping treatment... Like loperamide and other opioids, morphine acts on the myenteric plexus in the intestinal tract, reducing gut motility, causing constipation. The gastrointestinal effects of morphine are mediated primarily by µ-opioid receptors in the bowel. By inhibiting gastric...

Started morphine pills for back pain 30 mg I took it at 9 p.m. It didn't kick in until 12:15...3 hours for reaction? As well, really strong as far as that feeling of "tightness" throughout neck arms etc. Instead of pain relief & anility to sleep, I feel the need to stay awake and monitor breathing. In the hospital this RX would work much faster and stiffness was less ability to slep was fine. Is it the form (pill v.s. IV)??? Thanks side effect feels worse than pain go figure any suggestions on pain med for pm that does not do this? ## Hello, Lola! How are you? Morphine can cause joint pain and stiffness in some people that take it, so the form it's given in may not be relevant, you may have just hit the point where this side effect has kicked in for you. The problem ...

I am having trouble with my vision, I just increased from 1800 mgs a day to 2400 mgs per day ## That is quite a high dosage to be taking and, the more you take of any medication, the more side effects you will experience, even if it is split into several even doses over the day. Learn more Morphine details here. Since this a narcotic, it has been known to cause vision issues in some people that take it, though the severity usually tapers off as your body adjusts to the new dosage. Have you talked to your doctor about it? How severe is it? Is it just blurry vision, or something else?

Has anyone experienced an onset of pain due to administration of intravenous morphiene? This has happened to me both times I was given morphiene in the ER . Slowly my body starts aching from abnomen and moves throughout my entire body. Sensation is like a whole body menstrual cramp. Both times all I got for a response was,"That's weird," from the medical staff. It generally passes after 90 seconds and then the meds take effect but don't wear off for 12 hours rather than the four hours they had suggested. Anyone else ever experience this? Is it dangerous? I have to have major surgery soon and am afraid of the reaction. ## Hello, Angie! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you've had. I'd suggest just talking to them prior to the surgery and see if they can...

Hello~ I’ve been taking 5/325% for severe back pain due to an injury since 2012. I had surgery in 2014. I’m still experiencing severe pain and have been taking the Percocet since. Recently my doctor has prescribed MS Contin 15 mg. Although it did take the pain down a few notches, I became very dizzy and it felt like the world is spinning around me. I actually stumbled a few times which I felt was putting me at more risk. Then came the nausea and the feeling sick part. My question is, what are peoples experience as far as does the dizziness and nausea feeling go away after you’ve been taking it for a few days or longer? I realize that everybody and every body is different, but I would love to hear others’ experiences to help me decide whether I will continue takin...

I ve been on morphine for almost 2yrs at 75. and the lyrica was just started the end of last year it started at 50 and gone up since then. I have nerve pain in my neck and lowr back from 2 failed surgeries to releive pinched nerves in both areas. ## It could be a side effect that has been caused by the increase in dosages. I have taken 8 mg of suboxone for the past 2 days, the last time being last night around 8pm. I just received a prescription for 60 mg morphine for a back procedure and am hoping to be able to take it by tomorrow night. The doctor told me since I only took it for a few days that's all I should have to wait (although I sure felt the shot they gave me!) Does anyone have any experience with this or answers that may help? ## Hello, Lolly! How are you? It usually takes about 72 hours, before other opiates will work, though it could be different for you, since you felt the shot without any issues. If your doctor doesn't feel you need to wait longer, then it is always best to follow their advice. It isn't harmful to try taking another opiate sooner, the Suboxone just prevents them ...

Hello anyone. I was on Morphine for maybe 5 months after two years of a chronic pain condition. The analgesic effects were very short lived and the negative effects high. I was very physically (not so much psychologically) dependant and came off as soon as I could. I think my dose was 15/20 ml every 4 hours of liquid (Oramorph) but to be honest, I really don't remember. I have been off completely for a month and a half. I am 40. I went on the drug fully informed and mentally prepared but was severely shocked by the travail of coming off. I have no desire to return to it and would rather take the pain than loss of self. Which is really saying something. Now - my mind is so woolly. I can't seem to think or hold anything in my head. My memory is ridiculously poor. I do and say illo...

30 mg morphine with ambien what are the dangers ? ## The main concern using these two together is that they can both cause central nervous system depression. This means they lower your heart rate, blood pressure and respiratory rate. They can be used, together, but you do have to know to watch for this. Morphine is a narcotic and its side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Ambien contains the active ingredient Zolpidem and it used to treat short-term insomnia. Common side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, hallucinations and short-term memory loss. Are there any other comments or questions?

white ## No such thing, are you referring to Oxycodone? Or Morphine? Either way, you have not provided enough information, do you know how many pills there are that are white? There are no proprietary guidelines in the pharmaceutical industry that states all pills with the same ingredient must be the same color, size and/or shape. These are entirely up to the whit and whim of the manufacturer. And whether you are talking about Oxycodone or Morphine, or something else, there are many of them that are white, all of differing doses and forms. ## oxymorphine is a pill, it was recently fda approved..3x stronger then morphine ## oxymorphine is very real, and very strong, I, myself have lupis, and have taken oxymorphine 10 mg, BUT... it was not white, it was peach, also very effective. ## i th...

After an ectopic pregnancy which burst which led me to almost bleed to death, my Dr. told me that I had a deathly reaction to Morphine and that I needed to wear a bracelet that says I am allergic to it. I don't know what kind of reaction I had, as I was in very bad condition and in the hospital for quite a long time. What kind of reaction could morphine have caused, and are there other medicines that I should be cautious of? ## If it was that severe, it was most likely an allergic reaction that led to anaphylactic shock, but you'd need to check with the hospital to be sure. However, that's usually the worst type and the one they want you to wear a bracelet to warn about, because it could be fatal and subsequent exposures to the allergen tend to worsen each reaction. Yes, the...

what doest it look like ## There is no 1.5mg Morphine available as a prescription tablet, or capsule. Did you possibly mean 15mgs? What are the markings on the ones in question? That would enable me to research more information for you. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Morphine 30 sulfate er made by Mylan does not help relieve pain does anyone else have that problem ## I too am finding morphine sulphate ER manufactured by Mylan is not as effective. Almost like going through early withdrawal symptoms, for example, morphine usually paralyzes intestinal movement and causes constipation. I am having cramping and looser stools. I question the correct amount contained in the tablets. ## Sorry to hear about your recent experiences. Medications can and often do affect everyone differently, whereas some people get great results, but there are others that it inevitably just doesn't work for no matter how much they take. However in the case of this particular drug, it seems the majority of people posting on here don't like Mylan's version of it. Addi...
