Morphine Cr 30mg
55 Topics FoundI have been on percocet for about six years, now they want to transicion me to morphine sulfate(ms contin) 30mg, so the pain management doctor wants me to tae both until they can remove me from percocet.... to be onest with you I am afraid, can anyone give me more info.....Thanks ## Transitioning from one narcotic medication to another is usually not a problem, as long as your are given an equivalent dosage of the new one. There usually isn't any need to keep taking both to ease the transition, since one can prevent withdrawals from another. The Morphine isn't as strong as the Oxycodone, to you will require a higher dosage, to equal what you were taking, but it is very effective for many people. It can cause the same side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry m...
I have morphine 30mg cr. I've just started taking them. The problem is that I feel dizzy or light headed. Can someone who takes these Please tell me if these side affects go away after a few days. I also take Oxycodone 5mgs Acetaminop 325mgs tab. L.Silas ## Yes, this is a normal side effect of most narcotic pain medications, you may also experience: nausea, drowsiness and constipation. It should wear off as your body gets used to the medication, if it does not, then please speak to your doctor. Read more: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## Thank You for this info. It has been very helpful. L.Silas ## I insufflated a 30mg morphine extended release 4hours ago, I got a rash on my chest after 30 minutes then had a panic attack. I now feel normal but was wondering how long it...
small green tablet side 1, 653, side 2 30. ## Is the marking E653/30? If so, this is indeed Morphine Sulfate CR 30mgs, a generic for MS Contin, which is a 12 hour time released narcotic pain reliever. Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What condition are you taking this for? The reason I ask, is I learned the hard way that it should not be used to treat some conditions, as it can actually make some worse, instead of helping to relieve pain. ## I have renal disease, had a kidney transplant about 5yrs ago. I also suffer from Brachial Neuropathy, osteoperosis, scoliosis, right ribs stick out so far they are almost busting through the skin, I also suffer from sleep apena; however, instead of my airway becomming blocked at night, my b...
Does watson carry this same pill as I believe that this is good old Maalinkroft and any pill they have is next to taking a 325 asprin. ## No, that manufacturer, as listed in your post is Endo Pharmaceuticals, the E is NOT a Mallinckrodt marking. The marking is actually E 653 and it does contain 30mgs of Morphine CR, a generic for MS Contin, this is a 12hour time released formulation. This is a very potent, narcotic analgesic. Some common side effects may include: nausea, dry mouth, dizziness and constipation. You can read more about the medication here: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## Thanks, I have just started taking this and I can take it up to 3xs a day but have stuck to the 2xs a day. I have never had any luck with mallinkroft. The same pharmacy has me taking ENDOCET...
What is equal in mgs? I have been prescribed a 60 mg. of OxyCotin ER. Now the dr. is suggesting I use 30 mgs. of Morphine Sul ER. Can you give me the mgs. that equals the 60 mg.OxyCotin ER . What would the mg. difference be to get the same pain relieving results? It's not the dr.; it's the drug plan I have that is now demanding this be changed. Awaiting your comments! Eva ## Hello, Eva! How are you? Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so you'd actually need 90mgs of the Morphine to equal the same analgesic effect of 60mgs of Oxycontin. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## is there ...
I have taken off-green color *generic morphine 30mg e.R for a number of years with good results / 4 chronic pain. Now pharmacy is giving me morphine tab - 30mg e.R made by a lab called *mallinkrt. Taking it does bother my stomach, and does not last as e.R should. Seems alot of this stuff being substituted at pharmacies. Twice I've been given this made by mallinkrt lab and it doesnt work. Anyone else having this trouble? ## I have problems with MSContin but that is quick release. They decided to put me on 15 mg KADIAN which is lon lasting as in time release all day- hour. I take it 3x'x a day. No problems but its not generic and costs me 50.00 each script. The morphine is supposed to also extend the life of percocet which I take 4 times a day with 3 of them being taken with the k...
How long does it take to start working? ## From my own experiences with morphine it takes any where from 30 to 60 minutes for the drug to take effect.Make sure that you take the pill whole.Don't crush the pill because this will alter the time release of the drug.Drink plenty of water with the pill as so it will kick in faster. ## The regular or time released tablets take between 20 to 30 minutes to start working, however, there is also an instant release on the market that starts working very fast. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Read more: Are there any comments or questions? ## I know TiS question was posted several months ago, but wanted to add that, for me, it has always taken 2 full hours to feel any significant pain relief to kick ...
How many hours of pain relief should i get from one morphine sulfate 30mg ir? My recent MRI showed more bulging discs in my back. My pain is worse now. I cant sleep from the lower back pain. My doctor cut my script from 80 a month to 60 with no reason why. Now I have no quality of life. I can cry. Now my life will be laying around not able to have a decent pain free day. ## Did you ask your doctor why they lowered the amount prescribed? The FDA warns that Morphine carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Ref: Morphine Information Have you tried any physical therapy to help with your pain? What other treatment options have you been offered? We are all different, so it's difficult to say how ...
I was taking 30mg oxycodone and the doctor switched to 15 mg Morphine ER and 15mg oxycodone and the pain is the worst it's been in the last 8 months. Am i going crazy or is it possible that the morphine does nothing for me. And if so I can't see the doctor for another 7 days ## 15mg er morphine is the least amount available in the er class of pain meds, er stands for extended release, this means that basically you are receiving 15 mg per 6 hrs, over a 12 hr period. and obviously you receive half of the dose you were getting with oxycodone. long story short, you Dr.isn't doing you any favors, only reducing your pain meds and increasing your pain!, 15 mg er morph doesn't do much at all! ## Morphine when taken by mouth is super weak. I am suprised you didnt have some feelin...
I have reduced my pain medication over the past few years from around 8-10 immediate release Percocet a day, (which in retrospect seems kinda crazy for my intractable pain), to 3 morphine er 30's a day, with 2 15mg IR's for breakthrough pain. Desperately trying to reduce them had been MY desire, not doctors. That being said, my constant, chronic pain was hard to manage at 3 ER's a day, so my doctor had raised then to 4 a day. That dosage seemed perfect for me, and after a long time, had enabled me to work and try to get my life back on track after years of suffering. I've moved recently, (which means new doctors, so you know the drill), and he had immediately reduced what was finally working, back down to 3 a day. I should mention that just before moving, I had requested th
Filed under Morphineive been on 100mgs of methadone for a year and am unable to get to my clinic next week. i have some 100mg morphine pills from an old prescription. how much morphine should i take per day when ive been used to 100mgs of methadone per day? ## I'm currently on 135mg methadone and missed the clinic today but have to work tonight. How many 30mg morphine tablets would I need to be without withdrawal at work tonight? ## It takes 4-5 30mg extend release tabs to help me. But they last for 8-10 hrs usually. I was on 90 mg of done for about 2 years. Recently started going to the clinic again ## @JD & Bell22, Because no two drugs are created equally, there is no one-size fits all approach to determining proper pain management protocol and drug equivalency between any medications. I've been taking 10/325 hydrocodones × 5 per day for a couple of years for pain then the laws changed and, my Dr. prescribed me 1, 30 mg. Kadian cr per day for pain, the hydrocodone kinda helped for pain but i never was fully pain free. Just wanted ask how the new prescription would be better or should I ask for something else. I suffer from osteoarthritis, degenerate bone disease in just about all my joints. Any help with questions would be appreciated greatly. ## Hello, Wohali! How are you? To be equivalent to the amount of Hydrocodone that you were taking, you'd need 50mgs of Morphine. These opiates convert on a 1 to 1 ratio. Thus, the 30mg dosage may not be enough to get your pain under control, but the only way to find out is by trying it. The FDA classifies this medic...
Ive been in a forklift accident been on opiates for 20 yrs u name it they have put me on it if they would have fixed me correctly i wouldnt be i pain in first place ive heard of people overdosing on one 30mg roxi and ive taken 25 in a day ive heard people die on 1 80mg oxy and ive take 20 in a day am i imune or just have built up huve tolerance ive had a friend do 50 30mg roxi in a day so its all the person involved with his or her tolerance now my dr has me on 4 30mg roxi a day and 3 100mg ms contin in a day ive found that my broken ankle that was fixed and my herniated and bulging discs cause so much pain nothing and i mean nothing stops the cronic pain and the more i cut down the more im in pain and the more crap i take doesnt stop the pain i get so frustrated and deppressed i dont k...
my drug insurance co sugested i take this morphine in place of oxycodone 20 mg cr tab.. what is your impression of that??// ## Doesn't work for me. See if he will give you the IR oxycoxone for breakthrough pain. That should help.'that's an awful low dose of extended release morphine. Good luck! ## 30mgs of Morphine is equivalent to the 20mgs of Oxycodone that you were taking. However, it doesn't work as well for everyone, similar to Full of Heart, when I was on pain management and had to switch, due to my insurance no longer covering Oxycontin, it helped, but never worked quite as well as the Oxycontin did. They are both narcotics, so the side effects are very similar and may include: nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. Are there any other questions? ## I Want...
These things don't work... ## What types of problems are you having with them? It's hard to provide any information, when your post provides no details. This is a 30mg time release formulation of Morphine, which is a very potent narcotic analgesic.
different strengths of morphine ## Morphine is a narcotic analgesic. The strength varies, depending on what formulation you are asking about. For instance the extended release tablets are available in strengths of 15mg, 30mg, 60mg, 100mg and 200mg. The regular release tablets come in 10mg, 15mg and 30mg. What specific type are you asking about? ## I am currently taking 360 mg. of morphine sulfate CR per day, (2-60 mg. tablets, 3x a day) and 45 mg. of Oxycodone IMM for breakthrough pain (1-15.mg tablet, 3x a day) My new Pain doctor switched me to 1-60 mg. tablet of Kadian CR and up to 90 mg. of oxycodone IMM (1-2 tablets of oxycodone IMM 15 mg. 3 x a day) for breathrough pain.Isn't Kadian CR the same as morphine sulfate CR? I'm afraid I'll go into withdrawl if I begin taking ...
Is Morphine100mg.SR dangerous ?, Can it cause an overdose if crushed or chewed by being released to fast in the bloodstream? Does it come with a warning? ## Yes, if someone isn't opiate tolerant and they crush or chew it, this dosage could cause an overdose, as it is a pretty high one. And yes, the prescription bottle will normally have a warning label instructing you not to crush, chew or cut the tablets. Learn more Morphine details here. has this been prescribed for you? Are you afraid of taking it? ## I take both a prescribed immediate and slow release Morphine Sulfate that are only 30mg each. Am I taking 60 mg at a time if I take both at the same time, or is the slow release tablet released in smaller amounts to equal 30mg over the 8 hour time frame? ## The Extended Release is r...
I have taken morphine ER 30mg for many years. I just received a different brand and the pill is much larger and does not work as well as the smaller pill I am use to. What is in the pills besides the morphine to make such a difference in size? ## Hello, CJ! How are you? The fillers that are used can be different, as well as what is used to make them time released. I can't be more specific than that, without knowing the markings on the tablets in question. Can you please post back with these additional details? Then I can check for you. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## When a medication is created it is patented by a Pharmaceutical co. was just taken off 30 mg opana's and put on ms cotin 30 mg cr can anyone please tell me the differrence between the drugs are and should i experience any changes in my body fromthe change i was on opanas for about 2 years ## Well, the Oxymorphone in the Opana is actually stronger than the Morphine in the MS Contin, it takes roughly 90mgs of Morphine to equal 30mgs of the Oxymorphone, so depending on how often you were taking them in a day, you may actually run into experiencing some pain and withdrawal effects. Is there a specific reason they switched you to the MS Contin?
Are there any discount coupons you can download to get a more reasonable price for MS CONTIN 30mg.?? ## I have searched quite a few resources and I am sorry, but I am not finding anything, neither coupons nor assistance programs for this medication. This really doesn't surprise me, as it is very hard to find programs for most controlled substances. MS Contin contains the active ingredient Morphine, which is a narcotic analgesic and it is available as a generic. Have you talked to your pharmacy about purchasing the generic, rather than the name brand? As I remember from when I was on it, the price difference was substantial, the name brand was over $300 a month, but it was only around $100 for a month of the generic.
