My doctor prescribed me 15mg of Abilify after telling me I had the symptoms of classic Bi-Polar. I took it, and that day I felt horrible. Nausea, very weak, dizzy, and i ended up throwing up at work. i tried it twice. the second time not as bad, because i had more food in my stomach, but still not worth it to me, to feel so weak, feeble, and dizzy. so i decided to start taking halves, and even then i felt not so great. very anxious, this empty feeling inside, physically, that made me feel like i needed to have something (a shirt or jacket that fit tightly, and just was against me.) the anxiety had gotten quite bad, and i am usually an avid reader, and could barely read more than a page or two while taking this. i talked to my doctor about it, and he gave me 2mg samples, told me to take ...

I am going through a bad time right now with my mental health issues... I am on methadone 70mgs daily and was prescribed topamax but it caused me to have merhadone withdrawal. Looking for a good mood stabilizer for bi polar with manic depressive symptoms, more than mania, That is Safe to take with Methadone and will work and not cause methadone withdrawals. Please help?!!!!!! ## I am taking 80 mg of methadone and was prescribed topamax , since then I have been feeling so tired to the point of being lethargic and can not see straight . Is this normal ? I need refills for my mood stabilizer lamictal and can't afford to see my Dr. I have one prescription that involves me titrating my dosage up for a week and the refills are empty. Are doctors allowed to put refills on those so I can add my own in? I don't wanna get in trouble but I'm broke and bipolar. ## If you have a Costco nearby they have deep discounts on generics and I have gotten lamotrigine there. I took this once years ago for a mood stabilizer. I'm now on it again for weight loss. But I'm not seeing results. Am I immune to it now? It also makes me dumb as a bucket of rocks. I started topamax 25 mg 5 days ago as a mood stabilizer. I gained 80+ lbs from previous ones and antidepressants. I had no side effects until this morning I woke up feeling nauseous. I haven't been able to smoke a cigarette at all today and my stomach has been in severe cramps since I ate a sandwich about three hours ago. I feel as though I could vomit. I also noticed I am urinating more frequently even though I haven't increased my water intake (I always drink a lot). My question is, is e weightless going to come as a result of this stomach pain and not being able to eat? Will the stomach pain subside? I'm supposed to go up to 50mg in two days. Anyone have experience with Keppra as a mood stabilizer? I'm taking it, and it seems to help. No side effects. But it is used for epilepsy and seizures in adults. ## The medications of choice in the last several years to treat bipolar are anti-seizure meds which seem to have mood stabilization as a possible secondary indication. If you haven't discussed this with your doctor, please do. I've been on various anti-seizure medications for the last couple of years for my bipolar. Some work some don't. I been taking topamax for over a month now as a mood stabilizer and it's been working great. One problem I been having is the frequent everyday diaherra. Will this ever stop? Is depakote similar to neurontin? Can an individual just abruptly stop taking this mood stabilizer because they feel they don't need it without replacing it with something else? Does this cause weight gain? ## They both treat the same types of conditions and no, you shouldn't stop either one abruptly, because it could create the risk of seizures. Stopping one doesn't usually cause weight gain, but it can be a side effect of taking them. Other side effects may include nausea, mood swings and dry mouth. Hi im a 20 year old girl, I have been on numerous anti depresants, mood stabilizers and anti psycotics throughout the ages 14-18 to treat what seems to be claasified as bipolar, chronicly deppresed., I was prescribed cymgen 2 years ago I to it for a week and i remembered the side affects being awful, but now 2 years later i am extremely deppresant and havechronic back pain so i made the decision to take cymgen to see and experiment how it affected me. The cream colored capsule with D 03 on it is a 300mg gabapentin. It is mostly used for the treatment of nerve pain as well as a mood stabilizer. I also have found when you are trying to come off of opiates, the gabapentin helps with the withdrawal. It is not a solution, however, taking the gabapentin for a couple days vrs relapsing or getting on suboxone or methadone, is better on your body in the end. Since it is a mood stabilizer as well it helps with sleep, the anxiety, and pains that come with withdrawal. I have used this in my own personal experience and it was a life saver. I believe that if you work the program suboxone can work too, it just is expensive and not everyone has the cash to do it.
