Hello, I have been taking Euthyrox 50 microgram pills daily for about 12 years now. Recently, I found out that the manufacturer is changing the lactose in this medicine to mannitol, which has some side effects, with the most alarming one being congestive heart failure. I have atrial fibrillation and am very worried about this issue. My question is: does this side effect only relate to large doses of mannitol? My Euthyrox pill is so light that I cannot even weigh it.
Filed under MannitolI was put on a T3 compound of 15 micrograms twice a day and Synthroid. I ended up having about four to five incidents where I had severe stomache cramping and then violent vomiting and a month or two after starting the meds. I did ask my Dr. about it and he said he did not know what that would be from and ordered a food allergy test, which came back fine. I did not feel like the Dr. cared and I did not want to continue having those incidents so I stopped taking the meds. I have not had any of those incidents since but of course I am having all the super sucky symptoms that required the meds in the first place so now I am trying to figure out on my own how I can fix this. Has anyone else experienced this? If so how was it fixed? Why would this happen? Is this a side effect of the T3 or S...

Is it ok if i changed pills every month? my first 4 months i took althea pill but i felt that it makes me dry, then i changed to nordette for 3 months but i felt frequently headache, and now Im taking micropill. Is there any effect about it? ## You may experience some more side effects by changing frequently, because of the different hormone levels that are in them, but that's about all, unless your doctor has said otherwise. However, due to that fact, you should settle on one as soon as you can get one that works well for you, without causing problems and not keep switching. Our bodies really don't like the constantly fluctuating hormone levels. Is there anything else I can help with? ## i was determined recently to had a pcos.i am not having menses for almost 3mos.duphaston do...
I herniated a disc in Feb 2011 that didn't respond to a microdiscectomy, so was going thru intensive PT before deciding whether or not to do a fusion. Well, in early Dec of 2011, I came down with Guillian-Barre Syndrome, a rare syndrome where your immune system attacks your peripheral nervous system. Recovering from GBS can be extremely painful. My case left me temporarily paralyzed from the waist down and I've been I'm the wheelchair for almost 9mos. I have a wonderful therapist and am using my walker more and more each week. Anyway, I've been on oxycodone 5mg and tramadol since Oct and the pain relief has been minimal. So, my PCP (handling pain meds in lieu of ortho right now- not seeing ortho until GBS "gets fixed.") put me on the 50ug fentanyl patch. The firs...

is taking the pill form 5mg piolcarpine, 4 times a day the same as taking it by injection? ## Hi yolie, To my understanding, the answer to your question is no. Differences in the interval timing of your dosing as well as the absorption rate and how it's metabolized, would all likely be enough to render a different reaction to each form of administration. Additionally, different binders and fillers that are be present in the tablets may not necessarily be there in the form of an injection. Inactive ingredients in the tablet, the tablet's film coating, and polishing are: carnauba wax, hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, titanium dioxide and more... I'm not sure what other ingredients might be found in the injection vs the tablet, but I can be sure that they...
i get high levels of viginal yeast after taking ni primolut tablet, is it a side effect? ## To answer your question directly, yes, having taken oral contraceptives, such as Primolut (norethindrone) is a big contributing factor toward yeast infection. Eating foods high in refined carbs and living a highly stressful lifestyle are additional common factors. I recommend Donna Gate's Book, The Body Ecology Diet, toward reducing the yeast in your gut. If you can shift your food toward 80% alkalizing fruits and veggies and 20% acid forming foods (mostly meat, fish, poultry, eggs, rice - even brown rice), it will be a big step toward setting up an environment that encourages beneficial microbes and discourages the yeast. Lots of fiber is essential though, veggies, fruit, veggies, fruit, and...

Can this drug cause the blood sugar to increase? (On insulin pump now.) ## Hi John, Information that I've gathered on this subject notes the following: "Sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim may also increase the effects of drugs used to treat diabetes, such as glipizide (Glucotrol), glyburide (Glynase, Micronase, Diabeta), chlorpropamide (Diabinese), tolbutamide (Orinase), and tolazamide (Tolinase). Very low blood sugar levels may result. Watch for changes in your blood sugar if you are a diabetic." Walgreens pharmacy also mentions: "If you have diabetes, this medicine may affect your blood sugar. Check blood sugar levels closely and ask your doctor before adjusting the dose of your diabetes medicine." Referenced from: I would also like to share with you that the inclus...
