I am in Merida Mexico, I do not speak Spanish. I have developed a boil. In Canada I have been prescribed Flucloxacillin and Cephalexin at differing times in the past. What would that be called in Spanish? Is it available? ## just in case anyone else finds themselves in this odd and most unlikely position. I went to a Dr. who was trained in the U.S. he told me that Mexico does not have antibiotics of that type or strength. He prescribed POSIPEN which is Dicloxacilina.. a form of penicillin. One every 10 hours for 7 days.

can I'm allergic to penicillin. can I take his medicine? ## This is a Mexican brand name for the antibiotic Erythromycin and it is often used to treat infections in people that are allergic to the Penicillin class of antibiotics. Learn more Erythromycin details here. However, that doesn't rule out the possibility of your being allergic to it, as well, because an allergic reaction to something is always possible. And generally, if someone has had a bad reaction to one medication, they will eventually find a few more that they are also allergic to. What type of infection are you trying to treat?

Going to the dentist tomorrow for teeth cleaning, and in the past have taken Kefex( Cephalexin ) 2000mg to prevent any chance of an infection. I am currently near the Mexican border, and have excess to a penicillin called Pota-Vi-Kin. Will this be as effective? ## They are both antibiotics that are used to treat, or prevent bacterial infections. But you should take the one that your doctor, or dentist feels is best for you. Why do you usually take one? Do you have a heart condition? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, headache, diarrhea, nausea, and non-allergic skin rash.

I bought some Penicillin from a friend who came from Mexico with the tittle Penicilina Penimina 500mg, but I have been searching for this Arantiz Pharmaceuticals all over the internet and it does not provide any results, the lab address on the bottle, after I google it, shows what looks like a home in at Calle Teotihuacan 1585, Pinar de la Calma, 45080 Zapopan, Jal., Mexico, can anyone confirm if this is an actual pharmaceutical company in Mexico? ## Mexico really does not regulate their medications, like the U.S., and Canada, so unfortunately, there is no way to be sure what you have actually received. I did find them listed on various Mexican mail order pharmacy sites, but that's all I can really tell you about them. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as pos...

We used to be able to get this for use with infections and cuts.Very effective. is it availa ble for purchase? ## From what I'm able to gather, Sulfathiazole Penicillin ointment is primarily sold in Mexico and seldom found in the U.S. Another user on this site mentioned that: "I found it possible to purchase it in any state of mexico at any pharmacy in the city. You will almost always find it at a pharmacy in tijuana. It is very common." Because it is not readily available in the U.S. I recommend searching online under various mexican-based drug stores, as that is probably your best bet, aside from actually going to Mexico to pick some up. I hope this helps! ## Could this use on if u have a Virginia iche

I have an oral infection my wisdom teeth are coming out and I got the infection on my right side me. My mom gave me Penicilina v 800,000 u. Will that work? ## Hi Justine, In my personal experience, penicillin should work just fine for tooth infections and may keep the infection under control until you see your dentist... However, I think the only permanent solution would be getting the infected teeth out so the bacteria doesn't come back. Also, my opinion is that you'd probably need to take a full course of the antibiotic (7-10 days) to determine how well it's working. Have you discussed any of this with your dentist yet? ~Best wishes ## I have Mexican penicillin a-v, bottom letters are prolate-v 8000,000 unix adds. Each capsule contains 500mg.
