I was diagnosed of having BV and my OB prescribed Flagyl to take for 7 days. I had my period last July 13-18 and started the medicine at 07/21/17 until 07/28/17. I supposed to have my period again by 08/12/17 but until now my period is not showing up. I got a heavy discharge for few days and now I am suffering for lower abdominal cramps. Is this a side effect of Flagyl or am I pregnant? please advise. ## Most antibiotics can cause your cycle to be longer than normal, according to FDA reports, but the only way to be certain is by having yourself checked for pregnancy. Have you experienced any other symptoms, such as nausea, breast tenderness, and weight changes? ## yes, I gained 2 kilos already. last time i check was three weeks ago. i am not experiencing nausea but constipation, my brea...

I'm on the patch and I just had my implant removed and I want to know if metronidazole will stop my period? ## No, it is an antibiotic that is used to treat certain types of bacterial infections. I am 5 days late on period. Took a pregnancy test yesterday came up negative. I was on metro pill 500mg twice day for a week. Was suppose to get my period about 4/5 aftwr taking last of medicine. I had to take a diflucan too cause the meds give me a yeast infection. Could the metro pills possibly be making me late? Did i take a preg test too early? It was an EPT test. Please help!!!! ## Yes, the FDA does warn that most antibiotics, of any type, can cause you to experience a longer cycle, so you might not experience your period, at your usual time. They can also, sometimes, interfere with oral contraceptives, and reduce their efficacy, so there might be a risk of pregnancy, if you've been engaging in intercourse. Has there been any change? Did you experience a period, yet? Are you on...

My period was due on 02/13/2016. I started taking metronidazole 500 mg tablets (2 per day for 5 days) and my period did not come. Is something wrong with me? ## Hello, Jane! How are you? Actually, it's very common for antibiotics to cause a longer cycle in some women that take them, so you may not start for a few more days, or until after you finish your course of treatment. If you don't start, at all, within a few days of finishing them, then you should consult your doctor. The FDA lists the other possible effects of antibiotics as typically including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Oh and yes, I have personal experience with this, I usually start around day 27 of my cycle, but that last time I took antibiotics, I didn't start until day 32....

Well I had my period on the 10th of the month and I've been taking this medicine. The doctor says I'm suppose to take it for 7 days. My last day is tomorrow. I started spotting a little and it was light pink. What does that mean? ## Most antibiotics can disrupt your menstrual cycle, especially if you use any type of hormonal contraceptive, thus spotting can be normal, according to the FDA, other side effects may include dizziness, headache, nausea, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications?

Hello, My name is Elena and I have a question about Metronidazole: I began treatment for 5 days with amoxicillin (4 per day) and Metronidazole (3 per day) in the first day of the menstrual cycle. It's OK if you get pregnant this month given that the first five days of the menstrual cycle they take Metronidazole? Or should I expect? Thank you ## Hello, Elena! How are you? No, there shouldn't be a problem with a future pregnancy, but taking the antibiotics may throw your cycle off this month. As reported by the FDA, they tend to make it longer, so you may not ovulate at the time you would expect, it may occur a few days later than usual. Generally, I've found that taking an antibiotic adds about 3 to 4 days to my cycle. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for ...

On the first period of taking klion d 100 at night in the day i have noticed a discharge of blood and it's not my cycle time. What is the cause of that? ## If you're using it due to a yeast infection, it may be due to that, or it could be just due to a side effect of this medication. It's just something that happens and as long as the bleeding isn't severe, there is really nothing to worry about. Learn more Metronidazole details here. Learn more Miconazole details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have been spotting for three weeks now i.went to my doctor the first week he give me provera 5mg for seven days and it did not work i went back to him and he give me the 10mg for a next seven days and i we still spotting a friend told me about her doctor i went...

I was due to have my period on the 18th of this month and it's been 10 days and still no period, took a pregnancy test and it came back negative, i was prescribed metronidazole 500mg twice daily on 5/22/17. I'm confused and not sure what's going on ## It the test was negative, then it is doubtful that you are pregnant, but it never hurts to have your doctor do a professional lab test to be sure. It can be normal to just have irregular cycles, sometimes. Unfortunately, it is just part of being a woman. How old are you? Are you on any other medications? The FDA does list many of them as possibly causing issues with menstruation, such as longer cycles.

What should you do if you are on Klion D 100 and you get your period? ## I would like to know if it is safe to use klion D during a menstrual period? ## Should I continue taking Klion D during my period? ## According to PubChem, Klion-D contains "Metronidazole mixture with Miconazole". This is used to treat vaginal yeast / fungal infections. Speaking from my wife's experience, she was on a treatment of Monistat 7 (Miconazole) during her menstrual cycle before, and she said that instead of taking the regular 7 day course, she had to take it for 10 days to help. I'd double check with your doctor to ensure that it is okay for you to do, but I just wanted to share what my wife said worked for her. I hope this helps.
