Has anyone been able to get their insurance company to cover this prescription? Our prescription coverage dept refers us to the medical coverage dept, and back and forth they go. It is an RX, but it is considered a 'medical food'...... This is for Alzheimer's ## Hi Neednamenda, How much do they charge you for the Axona 'medical food'? If there's any other way for you to save money, I would consider trying out an Rx Savings Card (such as the one MedsChat offers "here") to help cut the cost of your prescription up front. Therefore if you don't get medical coverage for it, you can still save money in other ways. Also wanted to note that according to the manufacturer, the main ingredient of Axona is 'caprylic triglyceride'; a type of fatty acid fo...

Is there such a thing as pills for balance disorders? I need help! ## There are definitely meds for just about any condition; But it's a matter of narrowing down what specific condition you are experiencing. For example, dizziness or trouble balancing can be anything from Vertigo to perhaps a back which needs adjusting. Actually there was one time where I would feel dizzy every time I got out of bed - I went and got my back adjusted at the chiropractor and was fine after that. So my advice is to get a professional diagnosis from a doctor because in order to get the proper treatment the specific condition needs to be narrowed down. Hope this helps. Good luck! ## Thank you Angie. I have had a diffused axonal brain injury for the past 26 years & I'm not improving. I'm so gr...

I was under treatment with of thalidomide from November to March 2012, for obscure GI bleeding. This bleeding started after GI ENDOSCOPY of stomach. The thalidomide administration was stopped as I developed tingling, numbness, wet floor feeling , sensation of electric current etc and was advised Nervigen D initially for three months and then Gabapantinine 200 for two months. Since there was no improvement , I consulted Neurologist at Apolo Indrsprastha Hospital New Delhi. I was advised following tests: 1. S. B12, S.Vi+D3 2. NCV, UL+VL, S+M Conclusions are: 1. Vit B12 > 2000 pg/ ml 2. Vit D. 32.40. nmol / L Evaluated for Sensory deafferentation ataxia. Pitressin Vasopressin, ADH

Vasopressin, also called antidiuretic hormone (ADH), arginine vasopressin (AVP) or argipressin,[5] is a hormone synthesized from the AVP gene as a peptide prohormone in neurons in the hypothalamus,[6] and is converted to AVP. It then travels down the axon terminating in the posterior pituitary, and is released from vesicles into the circulation in response to extracellular fluid hypertonicity (hyperosmolality). AVP has two primary functions. First, it increas...
