I would like to know if Losartan Pot Tab has side effects such as breaking out in red blotches similar to hives. My husband has been taking this in place of benicar and we wondered if this could be causing these blotches that itch like crazy. ## Has he contacted his doctor? Losartan is different than Benicar, which contains the active ingredient Olmesartan, so it is possible that he's having an allergic reaction, even if he never had a problem with the Benicar. ## I am 45 years old.I was only a little hypertensive but the doctor recommended Losar H which i have been taking for the past 6 years. I am taking Losartan 50 mgs twice a day and I am getting terrible joint & muscle pain. Can it be from the meds? Orrrrrrr could it be from the simvistatin? ## Have you talked to your doctor about this? The first guess as to the culprit would probably be the Simvastatin, these statin medications are very well known to cause these types of side effects in some people that use them. This means it may not be the right medication for you to use and you may need to switch to something else. I’m on Losatan Potassium 100 mg QD. I get terrible head sweats within 10 min of being in my garden. Plus very red face, dizzy head and headache. Am I dehydrated? I still have the unbalanced head and slight headache. I am prescribed (2) tabs 25mg carvedilol, (1) tab amlodipine besyl 5mg,(1) tab potassium chloride 8meq sr, and (1) tab losartan k/hctz 100-25mg a day for HBP. I have been on this for past 8 years. I have severe leg/foot weakness and pain. I do not have diabetes but my family Doctor said it is probably neuropathy from unknown cause. This started since the onset of the meds. Please help me identify a white round pill with the just the number "12" on the front and nothing on the back. The "12" is on one side of a pill break indented line.
