Losartan And Back Pain

I currently take Losartan in the AM. Within two hours I have severe back pain which wears off in about five hours. Is there any reason I shouldn't take this Losartan in the PM so that I am sleeping when I have this back pain? I don't have the pain when I am at rest, only when I walk around. ## I am now taking the losartan at night and so far, it's working fine and I am having no back pain. ## Hi, Gaily! I have an almost debilitating pain on the left side of my lower back and the only thing I can think that would cause this is a new prescription for 25 mg of losartan. I have been taking Losartan 50 mg for treatment of high blood pressure approx. a year and half now, works on reducing blood pressure however about 4 months ago the muscles and joints in my arms stated hurting. My doctor has run various blood test and now sending me to Orthopediac doctor, I think it is the Losartan but he ignores my opinion that it could be the problem. I have been on Losartan for about 6 months now and can't take it anymore. I am having pain in all of my joints and it now has moved to my sternum. My doctor can't believe it is from the medication, but surprise.....when I don't take it I feel fine. It usually takes a few weeks to get out of my system. Since I became allergic to lisinopril, I've been taking 1 losartan hydrochlorothiazide 100-12.5 daily for 2 yrs. for blood pressure. When in FL for the winter, the pill was a different size, assume mfg. by different company, and ankles didn't hurt. In NY, I get the same drug, a bit different sized, and now my ankles ache and perhaps a very small swelling on outside ankle bone. I've been on a low dose of Losartan everyday and feel fatigued. How long before it goes away after stopping treatment? ## I too was having alot of side effects. The biggest ones were anxiety, neck and back pain, leg cramps especially at night, dry mouth, bad cough, felt tired all the time, dizziness when I got up, shortness of breath, felt foggy, like I wasn't really here, like in a bad dream and lastly I was getting really depressed! I am on blood pressure medication (Losartan) and I want to take a Tylenol for a headache. Can I take it? ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no interactions listed between Losartan and Tylenol (Acetaminophen). This does not necessarily mean that no interactions exist. However, I haven't found any reason why it wouldn't be safe to take together in my own investigation. I started Losartan (50 mg/1 per day) in May, after battling the Lisinopril cough for 2 months. I have had a lot of pain in my feet and my achilles tendon on one ankle. I also have gained weight and have increased appetite. I also have pain in my knees. What is a good substitute for Losartan? Is it possible that these things I have described are caused by Losartan? Hello, I have been on lorsatan for over 5 months and symptoms have increased. I have felt leg pain, especially on the left one, buttocks pain, fuzzy head, bad headache, patches where parts of my head hurt, especially the left side. I feel camps. I was just taken off Tekturna 150mg by my insurance Co. Blue Cross Blue shield of NC as they dont insure using Tekturna after insuring me for over a year. Now they have me on Losartan 100mg tabs. I am taking losartan 100 mg tablet every morning before breakfast. I also take Plavix 75 mg and Levothyroxine 100 mcg in a.m. By lunch time I feel very tired and don't have much energy the rest of the day. After dinner I take Narvasc 5 mg, Zetia 10 mg, aspirin 325 mg, and cephalexine 250 mg. My doctor doesn't seem to be very concerned about the fatigue but I feel it is interfering with my life. I am prescribed (2) tabs 25mg carvedilol, (1) tab amlodipine besyl 5mg,(1) tab potassium chloride 8meq sr, and (1) tab losartan k/hctz 100-25mg a day for HBP. I have been on this for past 8 years.
