I am a 37 yr old male. My bp was always 170/130 then i started amlovas-AT but bp was the same. After that my doctor advised me to take losar h 50 mg and my bp is 110/90 now. I am a T 2 DM patient for last few years. The following medicines are taken for last few months. Amryl 1 OD, Volibo 0.3 TDS, Clopitab 75 ODPC, Gabantin 100 BD, Fibator 10 OD, Losar H OD , Losar A OD and Prazopress XL 2.5 OD. I have been on losartan 25mg for 3 weeks. BP well controlled at 125/70. Getting dizziness and weakness in legs. I am a 60 year old male with high BP. I was taking Losar 50 mg ×2 and metoprolol XL 25mg × 2 but as my BP shot up to 160/90 with heaviness in my head and neck, the doctor changed the medicines and introduced Temsan-H in the morning and metoprolol XL 25mg in the evening since the last 3 days. I have been taking losartan 50 mg a day, but divided in the morning and night. As my dr noticed side effects, I was later prescribed 25 mg. I have recently started Losartan for my BP and it is working well. I also take doxepin for insomnia. I have had to increase by doxepin dosage due to increased anxiety/panic and insomnia. Do these side effects subside as I get acclimated to the Losartan? ## That can be a normal side effect, as reported by the FDA and yes, it should subside, once your body gets used to the medication, but that may take about 4 to 5 weeks. Been taking 100mg Losortan along with 10mg of Amlodopine for some time now and the side effects I can no longer deal with. These pills actually made matters worse. Dr. took me off Amlodopine but truth is I had to STOP both. Slowly killing me with side effects of both. How long before the pills effects are completely out of my system? Anyone have anxiety issues/panic attacks while on this med? I have started with Losartan about 2 weeks ago and have been experiencing anxiety. I take doxepin as an insomnia aid and have had to increase the dosage due to the increased insomnia and anxiety. Do this symptoms level off over time. On Losartan .5, less than 3 weeks In newly taking Losartan (no adverse side effect symptoms) average blood pressure has increased moderately during this time period . Physician advised. Curious if this experience was repeated in any clinical drug trials or other patients with a subsequent longer term use of the Losartan reversing the trend line to lowering BP. ## There is always a risk that any given medication could cause the opposite of its intended effects in some people that take it. Hi i was on Amilodipine 10mg for about two years but was having bad side effects, so in April last year my Dr. Put me on Losartan 100mg. I feel better on Losartan - less tired but still have side effects, dry cough and now short of breath which i never had before also get up about three times in the night to use the toilet. My bp on losartan is average around 130/80 100 pulse. I am 61 yrs of age. I did try to lower the dose for a week by taking 50mg but my bp started to creep up again so i returned to the 100mg dose. I have recently moved to Russia but will have to go to uk in May to tie up a few loose ends. I hope to visit my gp then. Thank you.

I am male 69 and have had a full and active life.however wear and tear is resulting in a knee replacement surgery.at pre op it was found my BP was 190/80 the operation was cancelled and my GP prescribed Losartan 100mg..my BP is now 166/95 But the side effects are horrendous..anxiety,drepression,headache,dry cough,vomitting and the need to visit the bathroom 4-5 times nightly...I want the operation but not the side effects.any advice please I going crazy.... ## There are other medications you can try, many of them, actually.
