OK, so I was on lutera first for 5 months. I got off it around like beginning of Feb then I got onto lo loerestrin fe. I missed pill the first month but I still bled 2 times that month. Now I am more consistent and took every pill around the hour I'm supposed to and of course I had just 2 little tiny spots of blood, that was it and I've been cramping and no bleeding. I never missed a period but I am new to birth control pills. The first was that lutera and I'm 29 with 1 daughter. I been on this lo loerestrin fe for at least 4.5 months now and I always bled the first 3 months of it and now I have no period not even consider spotting only 2 little spot when wiped that was it tried tampon and no blood. I'm worried. I was sequel with my fiance but less only like 3 times this...

I started Lo Loestrin Fe four months ago. I am currently in the first week of my fourth pack. The first month, I had brown spotting for about 5 days two weeks before my period came. My period during the first pack lasted around 7 days, like it usually does, and arrived on time. The second pack, I had brown spotting instead of my period. I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. However, my period then came the second week of the third pack (which was really weird to me because my period always came during the last four pills of the pack). At the end of the third pack, I had three days of brown spotting when I was supposed to get my period. I am currently on the first week of the fourth pack, patiently waiting to see what will happen next. Can my diet and exercise have something ...

I've been taking my pills very regularly everyday but there was one night a threw up a few hours after taking my pill and am afraid I might have thrown it up. I have had intercourse once this month but can not remember if it was before or after throwing up the pill. Well I had extremely light spotting the days of when my period was supposed to come and two days after my "missed" period I took three first reponses and they all came back negative. It is my fourth month on this pill and the first three periods were regular. Could I be pregnant? Should I take another test? ## Hi, Emily! How are you? Such irregularities can be normal when you are taking hormonal contraceptives and after several months on them, they usually do make your periods much lighter. However, if you bled, ...

I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for 3 months now. I had irregular spotting for the first 2 months, and probably because I was fairly bad about taking the pill at the same time every day, and missed a couple days. But this past month I have been very consistent in taking it every single day at around the same time. Despite this, I have not had any bleeding or spotting during the iron pill days....is this normal? I feel as if my body is just finally adjusted to the pill, but should I be concerned? I'm highly stressed out about this, and I took a test this morning, but it came up "invalid" though I'm pretty sure I did everything correct with it. Any help or advice would be great! I'm not in the same town as my gyno since I'm on summer break, but I just need answers! #...

Hi! I've been on Lo Loestrin for 8 or so months, and it's been fine. I've never missed a pill. I do skip the last 2 brown pills. I had my period as expected a week and a half ago...but today I just started bleeding again! I thought spotting was supposed to happen in only the first 3 months. Any insights / should I be worried? I 100% do not want to be pregnant! ## Spotting can really occur any time, because your natural hormone levels still fluctuate and then the oral contraceptives also have an effect. Unless your doctor feels there's reason to be concerned, then it's not usually anything to worry about. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Okay. Any time...

Hi guys! I have been taking Lo loestrin Fe for four months now. I have had a normal period in these months. They usually come 2-3 days early and are light. But this month I did not get a period and I am now 6 days almost seven days late. I have however, had spotting for the last couple of days but only in the morning for an hour and at night for around 30 minutes. I asked my mom about it and she's scared I might be pregnant. I have missed a pill or two and don't take them the same hour every day. It varies. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else or should I be taking an at home pregnancy test? ## Hello Addy! How are you? Yes, if you've missed a couple of pills, then a pregnancy test would be a good idea. However, changes to your period, such as it just being spo...

I've been on lo loestrin for 2 months. I take my second brown pill of my 2nd pack tomorrow. I've never missed a pill & take them within a few hrs diff a day every so often when it has slipped my mind. ( have a phn reminder now). Anyway, I've never had a bc where I've missed a period. I have been spotting very lightly to where a thin pad/liner will do the job. I've been cranky & bloating & cramping like always but have had no real bleeding. I don't think I'm prego but I am concerned. Everything I've been reading is talking ab where girl's are bleeding like crazy & I'm hvn the opposite effect. I mean, it's kinda nice not really hvn a period this month but should I be concerned? Also, does anyone hv to pee a lot on this? I mean fo...

Hi. I just took the last brown pill in my second pack of Lo Loestrin Fe. I have not bled at all yet. On the first pack I had bad cramping on the last white pill and then spotted on the first brown. Such light spotting that I only needed a panty liner for 2 days. Is this normal? Should I be concerned about pregnancy? I've never missed a pill and started the first pack when I was supposed to start the new pack of my old birth control, Yasmin. I am switching back. This pill is making me insane with worry. ## yes, its very normal. light spotting on lo lo estrin or lo estrin is what a lot of people experience. ## Gia's answer is correct. Contraceptives, such as this, contain hormones to prevent ovulation, which prevents pregnancy and changing the amount of hormones in your body can c...

In January I went to my gynocologist because I hadn't had my period for a few months and he decided to switch my birth control to Loestrin 24 Fe. The first 3 months I had my period normally, but I have not had one since. After reading a post on here, I also think the birth control could be why I have developed anxiety! I have also been sick off and on with dizzy spells, my migraines have gotten worse, and I have phases when I get extremely nauseous and sick after eating. When I talked to my Doctor's nurse about missing my period she told me that it was normal? I have had off and of spotting and thinking/feeling like I am about to start but I never do. Used to if I missed ONE pill I would start the next day and that hasn't happened. I'm pretty worried that this is the rea...

I've been in loestrin 24 for a year now, possibly a year and a half. My boyfriend and I are active and we use pull-out with the birth control. I'm on my last day of white pills today and yesterday I started getting a brown spotting, like the beginning of my period, and now when I woke up today it was dark red and kind of clumpy (sorry) like it was the beginning of my period. I've never had my period start before my placebo pills, usually on the third brown pill is when it starts. I haven't missed a pill completely, but I have taken several this month 3-4 hours late, if that makes any difference? I'm a little freaked out and have been really stressed for a while. If anyone can shed some light on what's going on I'd reallllly appreciate it. Thanks. ## If you...

I have been on Lo-loestrin since February of 2012. Every month since then I have had two periods a month. Until this month... I was late starting my period, and when I finally started it, I only spotted for one day. Could I be pregnant? ## If you haven't missed any pills, then it isn't very likely that you're pregnant. But these are hormonal based contraceptives, so they can cause menstrual irregularities. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. Have you contacted your doctor? With 2 periods a month and then this one also being unusual, you may just need to try a different birth control pill.

Hi is it normal that after taking this pill for about a year and a half, I have no periods?, I get occasional very very light spotting? and I know for sure I am using the pill correctly (right time every day) does this normally happen with any other women? Thanks! ## Eek! You didn't post under any specific pill name, so I don't know which one you're asking about. LOL Can you please post back and clarify? I assume, however, that you're referring to an oral contraceptive and, in the case, yes, skipping your period while taking them can be a normal side effect and usually isn't anything to worry about, as long as you haven't missed taking any. I started lo loestrin fe 3 months ago and I didn't realize until now you are supposed to take the white pills! Last month I had cramps and spotting when I should have had period. I haven't taken any white but never missed blue pills. I am 18 days into my new pack and am extremely worried I could have gotten pregnant. What are the chances?! ## Yes, you are supposed to take those ones, they do contain an active hormone, so there could be a risk of getting pregnant. Probably not a very high one, since theoretically, you were at the end of your cycle at that point, not in the middle where you'd normally ovulate. If you don't get your period, when it's due then having yourself checked for pregnancy would be a good idea. But otherwise, if you start, you're in the clear...

Im 17. I just finished the 2nd pack of Lo Loestrin Fe and my period still hasnt come. I take the pills regualarly every day and never missed one. I think i had some brown spotting, and that was it. I am sexually actuve, but i always use condoms as well as taking this pill. I'm starting to get really nervous that something went wrong and I could be pregnant. The first month of taking this pill, I took it on the first day of my period and continued as my gyno directed. Then, by the end of the first pack (after about 24 days or so) I got my period for the next month and that was regualr. Now, during my second pack of Lo Loestrin Fe, I'm still yet to get my period. I'm extremely nervous That I'm pregnant. ## It can be normal to skip your menstrual cycle, or have it be irregu...

I have been on Lo Loestrin since August. In the beginning, I had heavy periods which seemed to come multiple times each month, with spotting in between. Last month, I missed a blue pill during the first week on a new pack, so I took it the very next day along with that day's pill. Since then, I've not had my period at all except for two or three days of very light, brown spotting/discharge. Could this be my period or is there a chance I could be pregnant? ## Either answer is possible, actually. If you're sexually active, there is always a small risk of getting pregnant, even if you use protection. But those few days of spotting may very well have been your menstrual cycle for the month. Hi, I've been on lo Loestrin Fe for about 6 months now and this past month has been a little worrisome. I'm a 21 year old college student and have only been sexually active for around 2 months with my boyfriend of almost a year now. I just finished my 6th pack a couple days ago and I did not have a period during my sugar pills but I did spot for a day with light cramping during my second week of the blue pills. I didn't have much concern until I googled it and learned that mid cycle bleeding can signal implantation bleeding. I take my pill everyday at roughly the same time and my boyfriend and I use condoms every time. I did take a test on the last day of my sugar pills and it was negative. I've heard some things about false negative or it being too early to detect a pre...

I have been on Lo Loestrin for 5 years, whenever i would miss 3 or more pills i would experience light bleeding for a few days and occasional spotting. I recently stopped taking it and its been over a week and still havent gotten my period. Could it be possible that im pregnant? Im have experienced some sickness and tiredness but im also on zoloft and lorezapam so im not sure if its just a side affect from the meds. ## Did you have unprotected sex during any of those times when you missed 3 or more pills? If so, I think it would actually be wise to test and see if you really are pregnant. Not to jump to any conclusions, but this would also explain the sickness and feelings of tiredness. On another note, both Lorazepam and Zoloft list extreme tiredness and nausea as a side effect. In my ...

I started Lo Loestrine Fe 2 and a half months ago. I have an alarm go off at the same time every day to remind me to take it, and I have never missed a day. The doctor told me I would be protected after 7 days. 9 days after I started I had unprotected sex. My next period was late, so I took a test that came up negative. When I did get a period, it only lasted about a day and a half. Normally it's 3ish days. Now it's been 37 days and I still haven't started. I haven't had sex at all since the last period, but I'm getting concerned that that was just early pregnancy spotting. I've been reading side effects and I know starting the pill will change my cycle, and possibly cause me to miss a period in the first few months. Does it sound like that's what's going...
