low pulse, irregular heart beat ## I take both Lisinopril (10 mg daily) and Metoprolol (50 mg daily. 1/2 AM & 1/2 PM) These pills look a lot alike and it is possible to get them mixed up if not cautious. I did this about three times in a row last week. OOPS. But I'm still here and don't feel any side effects. I will be more careful in the future. I WAS ON LISINOPRIL 10 MG DAILY, THE DOCTOR SWITCHED TO METOPROLOL 25 MG. IS THERE ANY BENIFIT? ## They are two different types of medications, though they are used to treat the same health issues. My husband takes 12.5 mg metoprolol in the morning and his lisinopril 2.5 at night. His cardiologist said to take 12.5 metoprolol in the am and another 12.5 in the pm. Our question is can the two medications together cause his no to get too low? He was put on the lisinopril to thin his blood since he is diabetic. I'm on metoprolol 25 twice a day and lisinopril\hct 20-25 once a day. I've had some occasions where I want to.have a captain and coke but get anxiety about Blood pressure going to low or heart problems or who knows what. Am I over thinking this? Am I gonna die? ## Hello, Aaron! How are you? What are you usual blood pressure levels and heart rate? There is some risk associated with drinking on such medications, with hypertension. Alcohol can also be cardiotoxic, so you do have to be careful and should never imbibe, without your doctor's approval. ## My normal bp on meds is 120-110/82-68 heartrate around 80-69. And I dont have any other problems besides hbp and some anxiety. My bp without meds was 170-180/89-100

Hello. We are on vacation visiting beautiful panama beach Florida and my husband's blood pressure has gotten as high as 203/110. He was on lisinopril 10mg ER and took a CT head that came back negative. My concern is that his BP is still remaining around 150/98. We just want to make it home to follow up but these blood pressure readings are really scaring me. We also started an 81 mg Aspirin. What else can we do? I've been taking 20 mg lisinopril a day at 12 noon. I took it today at 12 noon, then my dr. changed it to 50 mg Metoprolol when I saw him this afternoon. Question is, can I start the 50 mg Metoprolol at 12 tonight when I go to bed, even tho I took my last Lisinopril a 12 today? I get bad increase heart beat/pulse at night. i am out of my blood pressure med can i takelisinopril hctz ## Although these two medications are both used for high blood pressure, there's really no telling whether or not you'll experience the same benefits from Lisinopril or even react favorably to it, since everyone responds differently these drugs. Not to say it wont work, but it's always good to have backup options. There are many natural alternatives for Blood Pressure control that in my opinion can be just as effective as prescription medication if taken seriously. I personally had severe hypertension around 150/90, but was able to control it by controlling my eating habits and exercising. Can I stop Amlodipine while I also take Metoprolol and Lisinopril? The Amlodipine makes me feel cold and shivering quite often. My friend is on these three blood pressure meds but is out of the Lisinopril and hasn't taken them for three days. Will he be ok till tomorrow and what can he do to counteract the side effects of being out of the one? ## Since he is on the others, he likely won't experience any severe issues from being out of the Lisinopril, but of course, there is no way anyone can guarantee his safety. In the future, it would be best that he obtain a refill several days, before he runs out. Hi, I am a 56 year old male in fairly good shape, prob 20 lbs overweight. I have white coat and anxiety. My doctor has had me on Metoprolol 100mg succinate once a day and just switched me to 100mg tartrate twice a day since my BP was high in his office. If it's really only high, when you're in the doctor's office, a medication isn't necessary. Even an ER won't treat for that, they will only do so if levels are dangerously elevated. I took my metoprolol 100mg at 8am and forgot that I took it and subsequently took it again at 9:15pm. Is this dangerous? I also take lisinopril 25mg. ## Generally, doing so just once is not dangerous, according to FDA instructions, but it is always best to check with your doctor to be sure.
