Lisinopril Hair Loss
10 Topics FoundMy beautician said lisinopril definitely causes hair loss. She recommended taking Biotin 5000 mg to help. ## Hello, Lynn! How are you? Yes, that is a listed side effect of Lisinopril, as reported by the FDA, although it is rare. Someone taking it may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been on Lisimopril for 4 months and all my hair is falling out I'm so sad by this. Im stopping the meds and seeing my doc. I'm searching for a natural way to control your BP. Will my hair grow back and what alternatives can the doctors give me. I'm very scared and worry about my hair loss and side affects from stopping the meds. ## Hello, Joanna! How are you doing? I strongly urge you not to stop it cold turkey, because doing so creates the risk of dangerously elevated blood pressure and heart rate, which could lead to health problems, such as heart attack or stroke, as reported by the FDA. And yes, there are other options available that your doctor can prescribe, over 100 of them, actually, so I can't possibly list them all. It's really just a matter of tri...
Over the last few months my hair has gotten very thin, brittle, and I’m shedding a LOT. My doctor said it was probably hormones and my age (45 yo female). I started taking Biotin and special shampoos, but they didn’t help. Recently I started digging into the Lisinopril side effects and hair loss is cited. I told my doctor and she told me to discontinue. Has anyone had hair loss on this med, then regrowth after discontinuation? ## Dear WH, Sorry to hear about your hair loss. Based on my own investigation, hair loss isn't "officially" listed by the manufacturer or drug labeller as a side effect of Lisinopril. However, there are numerous mentions of this occurring in patient reviews, so I would consider its consumers to be a worthy citation in my book. I suppose it...
I have a round yellow tablet with LL on one side and B02 on the other. Different than previously obtained Lisinopril 20/HCTZ 12.5. Is this simply a different brand or manufacturer? ## Yes, same medication, just made bby a different company. ## since on this drug, my skin is thinner in my arms, dizzy most of the time, and a loss of muscle strength, anyone else with this ## I have had cramps in my legs and muscles hurting in my leg. I take lisinop/hctz 20-12.5 ## I am on the same medication but lately i am having severe pains all over my body doing my sleep. When i awake i am in pain until i start to walk around. My hair is thinning also. ## Interesting stuff indeed. What about diarrhea? This is a clearly listed side effect of Lisinopril, and in our case, it may be exacerbated by the pati...
My doctor took me off Lisinopril htcz because I became severely dehydrated. He put me on Metoprolol 100 mg and Doxazosin Mesylate 2 mg and now I'm losing my hair after being on these drugs for about 2 mos. I need to get off these drugs asap, is there another drug for high blood pressure that will not cause hair loss? ## Hello, Jan! How are you? Hair loss is most commonly caused by Metoprolol, as listed by the FDA. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Yes, you can get Lisinopril without the HCTZ, you can also take it with the Doxazosin, if your doctor thinks you need more than one medication to bring your blood pressure down. Thus, it's definitely worth your asking them about it. The side effects for these are very simil...
My renewed generic prescription Lisinopril/hydrochlorothiazide 10-12.5 is now coming from a different manufacturer (pharmacist verified) than my original (pinkish pill) from Aurobindo. The new blue pill, manufactured by Westward, is not the same in effects. Does anyone know what pharmacies (Target and Walmart don't carry it) carry the same medication but manufactured by Aurobindo? Thank you ## Maybe my question should be when generic prescriptions switch manufacturers, are the ingredients EXACTLY the same? If so, why is a medication I have taken successfully for 4 years with no side effects suddenly begin to make me ffell lethargic and starting hair loss within 3 weeks of starting the same "everything" but from a different manufacturer? Has anyone else experienced that maybe...

Since the past year, I have gained much of the 40 pounds back that I had previously loss. Furthermore, my blood pressure was more controlled with the ACE Inhibitor. Please help. I'm thinking about seeking help frim a homeopathic doctor. ## Weight gain can be a normal side effect of most blood pressure and cardiac medications, but that usually levels out around 10 pounds, or so. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Are you on any other medications? Do you keep your diet low in sodium and fat?
