Took it for 1 week. 1 tab every 12 hours. I've taken them all. How will I know if the infection is gone? Dentist cleaned some out after an extraction. ## Hello, Emmalee! How are you? Are you experiencing any pain, swelling or foul breath odor? If not, then the antibiotic has most likely worked, since those are all potential symptoms of an infection as detailed by the NIH. However, only your dentist can say for sure by doing an exam. Was this your first extraction? Are you on any other medications?

Amoxicillin is an antibiotic similar to Penicillin; they both contain sulfur, and have a similar taste (very unpleasant) and sulfur odor (easily detected during urination). I'm prescribed Amoxicillin 875mg two times daily x 10 days. I've been on it for a week, but now waking up with a horrendous foul body odor and very bad breath. Initially I thought the odor was external but it's NOT. It was me. I always have itching, it's non stop. I've been to the Dr to be tested for herpes and it isn't herpes. I have a bad odor after having sex with my boyfriend and then days after I start itching and bubbles appear. Been going through this for the last 25 years and no Dr has found out why.
