Does anyone know if the venofer infusion is made with a sugar substitute? I am epileptic and have a sugar substitute seizure trigger among other things. I recently started venofer and have my 4th infusion tomorrow for my anemia. I have had increased seizure activity and headaches, as well as an upset stomach the day after, to where I cannot leave the house. Any info will be helpful. Thank you. ## I didn't find any listed as being in it, according to the manufacturer's website. My husband is allergic to them, so I am always on the look out for them under their various names and forms. Headaches can be a normal side effect, according to FDA reports, the seizure activity is listed as being due to the possibility of being hypersensitive to it. Have you informed your doctor of the is...

I am on my 3rd set of infusions in 5 years. Infed (iron dextran) gave me an allergic reaction and so they stopped and gave me steroids and benadryl...then felt like my bones were rotten and soft for a week. Benadryl helped. After that it was months of iron sucrose, which only left me feeling crappy for a day or two. This time around, (Friday) I was given Injectafer, which is 750mg at one time. I tolerated the infusion fine, but was exhausted and unable to focus for the rest of the day. I woke up the next day due to the fact that my hips and pelvic bones were aching like a toothache. It's Monday, and I can feel my long bones and it's miserable. The upside is that I already can feel the difference in my iron levels. I have another treatment this coming Friday--at least I know what...

Proferrin Forte iron with vitamins. Need to know all ingredients. Is there a generic for this. Insurance won;t pay for this, considers it a vitamin supplement yet it is prescribed by doctor and I must take it. I am anemic. Any advise? ## Most all medicine list the ingredients. I found a less expensive iron tablet over the counter since insurance will not pay for Proferrin Forte. I need the actual ingredients to compare to the over the counter one. ## I cannot find anything that lists the dosage breakdowns. Does anyone else have more information? ## ingredients - cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, sucrose, calcium stearate, silicon dioxide, protease
