Im 58 Years Old
5 Topics FoundIm a 58 yr old woman. I'm bipolar, reclusive and my husband is an over the road trucker. 4 years ago i was put on Percocet 10/325. The dr missed a broken shoulder bone so i switched Drs who added MS Contin. I had rotator cuff surgery but within 3 months I went to bed at Thanksgiving and woke up at the hospital on Xmas. I had severe pneumonia - they induced the coma as my oxygen was mid 60s, and after 3 chest tubes failed, they had to go in and physically debride my lung. So besides shoulder to wrist pain I have phantom nerve pain over that scar. My dr told me the nerves cant connect. I don't take street drugs, nor seek drugs, but my vision is bad and my husband left a tablet in a dish by my chair which i thought was a Percocet and took it. Well, it wasn't. I knew i was going...
Hi there, My dad is 58yrs old, he's an epilepsy patient for last 30+ years..Right from inital stage till date he has been using sodium valproate 400mg twice a day. Recently a few weeks back he's affected with epilepsy (fits) after nearly two years gap. As a common practice we have consulted the doctor and has make him to undergo all the test (ECG/EPG) etc tests. As a result the doctor whom we consulted has advised to stop using sodium valproate 400mg and replace it with Oxetol 300mg and assured this should take care of the issue. Now all im worried here is, with my dad being 58yrs old, will changing the medicine now have any kind of impact? Will he be safe? Please advise, im pretty worried about his health... Thanks Pr ## It is normal for someone's body to adjust to a medica...
I'm a 58 year old woman who had a total hysterectomy at 48 years of age, taking hormone replacement (estradiol cream) I started on Wellbutrin 150 mg., by Sandoz, (pink pill) and was on it for maybe 3 weeks. Did nothing for me. However, I seemed to be angrier and more emotional. Dr increased dosage to 200 SR which I've been taking for a week. Wellbutrin has been in my system for 1 month now and there has been some slight improvement not much. My dr mentioned she might include Effexor with it. Actually my Dr wanted me to take Effexor instead of Wellbutrin, but I preferred Wellbutrin because I was concerned about the weight gain. All I know is that I'm experiencing some of what I did not want on an antidepressant. Although I have not gained weight, I'm hungry, itchy at time...
I've been seeing Reumatology Doctor for years. I have severe Fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, an auto-immune disorder, herniated discs, (2). I have also had 2 left knee replacements since 48 years old. I am now 58. I am in severe pain a lot of the time. The doctor doesn't know where to go with me because I take 6 oxycodone (15) and 2 Morphine Sulfate long acting (30mg) a day. I'm moving to the Media Area and I need another Doctor as soon as I can. My phone number is {edited for privacy}. Please tell me who I can go to. The Doctor, Doctor Zuckerman of Bryn Mawr told me I need a pain management doctor.
Filed under OxycodoneMy brother had been on Xanax for 25 years or more, and the age of 58 he was diagnosed with fronto-temporal dementia. Now, 3 years later, he is a complete vegetable with 24/7 caregivers. The Ashton Report strongly suggests that Xanax, as well as other benzodiazopines, can cause severe memory loss, personality impairment and other changes in the brain that are all symptomatic of dementia. Does anyone have similar experience after long-term use of Xanax? ## The answer is possibly but not really. It should be prescribed & watched closer in older people. Also a withdrawal from the medicine can cause serious problems that can be thought of as dementia?
