58 Topics FoundI take hydromorphone 4mg as needed but i wanted to know if it was safe taking two tablets? ## Hydromorphone, the active ingredient in Dilaudid is a very potent narcotic analgesic. That said, it is not advisable to increase your dosage without your doctor's approval. Doing so runs the risk of overdose and other serious side effects, such as organ damage. If your current dosage does not control your pain, you should speak to your doctor to explore your other options. Have you contacted them yet? ## Due to a near fatal accident I had in 2007, I have many chronic physical problems, some accident related and others such as severe arthritis, torn ligaments in both knees, disc problems bot sides of the back. The disc and knee problems are so painful that surgery is my option. I started out...

hydromophone 4.5 mg images..so that it is correct the dosage im taking ## Hello, Jessy! How are you? I'm sorry, but I can't possibly post pictures of all Hydromorphone tablets for you, there are far too many on the market. What are the markings on it? That is what would enable me to verify the identification for you. Can you please post back with this information? Thanks! The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
I have posted before about these meds which are the most effective rescue meds available (though not here in the UK) from my OxyContin, which only lasts a maximum of six hours and not the 12 as stated on the box, so need up to three rescue dosages of a suitable 4-hour action analgesic daily. First, can anybody tell me if the much cheaper TEVA US generic oxymorphone is up to the quality standard of the excellent Endo IR OPANA 10mg (and occasionally I need 5mg tablets as well)? What is the best value for money brand of hydromorphone IR high dosage (4mg and 8mg)? I know that the original Abbott/Purdue DILAUDID is by far best, but I hear good things about Ethex and Mallinckrodt's generics. Mallinckrodt also tend to be a lot cheaper than most generic opioids. Finally, how on earth can I ...
Filed under OxymorphoneIs hydromorphone the same as dilaudid I've. ## @Biglou, Hydromorphone is the generic name for Dilaudid (brand name), so yes, they are the same drug in that sense. However not all dosage forms are IV-based. For example, I've seen 4mg Dilaudid tablets in person and have also heard of patients taking 2 to 8mg tablets throughout this forum. One other thing to note is that they do make a brand called "Dilaudid-HP" (Hydromorphone Hydrochloride Inj.) which is marketed for intravenous use. Although, I have yet to find out if there is a generic form of the IV as well. Hope this helps answer your question! ## Regarding the post of Hydromorphine IV and dilaudulid: they are the same medication. I was on Dilaudid, (generic name) Exalgo ER 8 mg oral for chronic pain. While in hospital...
My daughter was given this dilaudid after the surgeon removed her pancreas. having taken hydromorphone in the past for her debilitating pain, it has always offered relief. This (new manufacturer) pill does not give her the same results as the pills she had before this script was filled. These are white triangular, 8 mg tablets. One side has an 8 on it, the opposing side has an m. ## Rx card please?? ## How is she doing? These tablets do containing 8mgs of Hydromorphone, which is a narcotic analgesic. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation, and dry mouth. Corona, what type of card are you seeking? Did you find one that works for you?
Due to a physician error I am unable to get my prescription filled for 18 mg hydromorph contin, and he's now on vacation. I have old 100 mg tablets of ms contin that was prescribed in 2011. Can I take these safely as a substitute until I can resolve the prescription problem? ## Hello, Patty! How are you? It would take 72mgs of the MS Contin to equal each 18mgs of the Hydromorphone. However, the problem is that your MS Contin tablets are expired. Medications lose effectiveness over time, so you should actually dispose of them. Doubling up isn't safe to try, either, since that could result in an overdose. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mou...
Walgreens won't fill my percription of 180 , 8 mg hydromorphone without contacting doctor to get a code to fill is this true my doctors office was closed so I have to try again tomorrow ## I am also on 8mg of Hydromorphone and have my Rx's filled regularly at Walgreens. The max perscribbed dose of this medication is 4x/day which comes to a monthly script total of 120 tablets. My thoughts are that a special code is needed/required by law for your script due to the fact that your doctor is perscribbing more than the maximum allowed dosage for this medication. ## The maximum prescribed doses per day can actually be 6 doses, since it can be taken every 4 hours, if needed that often. However, this really has to do with the new dispensing laws that are being enforced. Many pharmacies ...
My fiancé has been receiving hydromorphone 8mg tablets for fibromyalgia and several herniated discs for over 4 years now. For most people in the same situation as my fiance and those who are prescribed similar medication for chronic pain know about the problems that are continuing to occur when filling theses particular medications. We are well aware of the epidemic and abuse of this medication and medications like it however his diagnosis' is legit as well as his prescriptions and we constantly have a difficult time filling his prescriptions. He works for bright house and does extremely hard work outside as a lineman and needs this medication to function at work and through daily activities. I hate to say but young people who have taken advantage of these pills and used them f...

Trying to find a picture of what the generic form of Exalgo 16mg tablets look like. ## Hello, Rose! How are you? What are the markings on the tablet in question? There is a 16mg extended release Hydromorphone tablet that is white, round and has the marking WPI 3630 on it and that is the only generic that I've found in this dosage, so far. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## That is what I thought. Last month my pharmacist gave me my Rx of Exalgo half of the pills were the yellowish color with Exh and 16 on the tablet and some said the W with 3630 if I recall. When I asked for the generic again to save $$'s he said they only get the generic in no...
I, too, have been having a serious problem finding a pharmacy that will (or can) fill my perscription for 120 dilaudid (hydromorphone) 8mg tablets. I am in the end stages of cervical cancer that has spread too far for treatment. The doctors all say "we will keep you comfortable." My perscription was written 18 days ago and after calling a few pharmacies and realizing that would not get me any answers, I had to have someone physically take me to 24 pharmacies only to be told they don't have them at all or that the ones they get go to their regular customers and that the suppliers are only sending them a very limited quantity each month and they can't even order enough to fill my perscription at all. I have been able to fill a one week supply of the 4 mg twice but now that...
what does a dilaudid 30 mg look like color shape and ## There is no 30mg Dilaudid pill on the U.S. market. Dilaudid contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone and regular release tablets are only available in a maximum of 8mgs, the extended release in 16mgs and and extended release capsule in 32mgs. There are also generics on the market and they will all have different markings to enable their identification. Are there any markings on the tablet you are questioning? Do they still make the yellow 4 mg dilauded and if they do what's the nsme brand ## Hello, Kurt! How are you? Dilaudid is the brand name, the generic would be Hydromorphone. And there are several yellow 4mg tablets, so I'm not sure which one you're looking for, without knowing more information. Do you remember any other details about it?
is 1 15mg morphime IR stronger than 2 10mg 325 oxycodone tablets ## Yes there stronger ! Morphine has a high acting effect on the neural pathway and does a much better job for relief from what ails us all ! Check a pharm scale the oxy is like 6 or 7 on th list morphine is 2 ! ## hydromorphine 32mgEX what do they use for breakthrew pain..? ## Actually no, Oxycodone is stronger than Morphine by one and a half times. In other words for each 10mg dosage of Oxycodone, you'd need to take 15mgs of Morphine to be equivalent. You can learn more Morphine details here and you can learn more Percocet details here. Additionally, the Acetaminophen in the Percocet potentiates the action of the Oxycodone to help it work better. oldtimefiend, there isn't any specific medication that has to be us...
I take 4, 2 mg tablets every 8 hours. I find taking 8 mg at once works better, instead of 4 mg every 4 hours. Everyone is different i guess. Also taking 6mg extended release every 12 hours. ## Hello, Chris! How are you? What medication are you talking about? I'm sorry, but you didn't mention it or post this in any particular drug forum. :-) ## Sorry about that. I'm taking hydromorphone.
I recently found a bottle of pills that says hydromorphon (without the e) 8mg and the bottle also says it is a replacement for dilaudid. The problem though is the pills are just round and white and say nothing on them. I would like to know if these are truly what the bottle is. ## Hello, Talos! How are you? There are no unmarked Hydromorphone tablets available in the U.S. So, they are most likely not what the label claims. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
I've been going through pain management for quite a while and I was on percocets morphine pills methadone treatment and recently dilaudid now I have been prescribed 5mg oxymorphone HCl tablets, Is this stronger than the dilaudid, hydromorphone 4 milligram tablet that I was prescribed before ## Very slightly, but not much stronger. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How are they working for you? That is actually the more important question. Are they alleviating your pain?
