Why are they discontinuing the white Watson Hydrocodone Watson now ? ## Hi, Harvey! Who told you it was being discontinued? Is it one that contains 500mgs of Acetaminophen or more? If so, that may be the reason. The FDA has requested that all manufacturers lower the amount of Acetaminophen in these combination medications to no more than 325mgs per dose, due to the danger of liver damage that can occur with long term use and the liver failure that can occur with overdosage. Do you know what they will substitute the hydrocodone whith ## Hi Rhonda, They're not actually discontinuing this medication. All they are really doing is lessening the amount of Acetaminophen in their products. It started sometime earlier this year, but all manufacturers have to abide by this new law which only allows up to 325 mgs of Acetaminophen. This is primarily due to safety concerns with liver toxicity. Some pain management patients suggest taking an extra Tylenol to make up for it. However I wouldn't necessarily recommend more of something that is considered to be so toxic. The reason you couldn't find it listed anywhere is due to the fact that is has been discontinued due to the amount of Acetaminophen that was in it. This is 500mgs of Acetaminophen by itself, no narcotics. This is a generic or store brand of extra strength tylenol. ## Just an additional note, depending on where you looked you may have seen K30 listed as a narcotic because there used to be a small round codeine tablet with that marking but it has been discontinued and is no longer available. Caplet shaped pills with K30 are just Acetaminophen.

What would the name be on a bottle of liquid hydrocodone for being 5 mg ## Hi Carol, The only brand names I'm aware of are Lortab Elixir, Liquicet, and Tussigon. However, Lortab Elixir and Liquicet contain a combination of Hydrocodone + Acetaminophen; and not just Hydrocodone by itself. Tussigon also comes with Homatropine methylbromide, which is added to discourage overdosing. One other brand name containing the same ingredients as Tussigon is Hycodan, but this has reportedly been discontinued in the US. What brand name did you receive from your doctor?

I was told that Watson is discontinuing the light blue oval 10mg loritabs? Liver damages was the reason given? ## Currently, removing many doses of Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen, is something that's being taken under consideration, because of the liver damage that the Acetaminophen can cause. They want to make it so that only a few are available, to better restrict how much Acetaminophen someone can take in a day, when they are on this. Learn more Vicodin details here. why is this being a discontinued medicine ## The only thing that is changing is the amount of Acetaminophen. It is being reduced to 325 mg. The FDA has asked all of the manufacturers of Acetaminophen combination medications to reduce it. The changes will go into effect in Jan 2014.

I get pains down my leg usually when the weather changes from warm to cold and when it rains. I have always taken Norgesic Forte as soon as the pain starts and it always takes care of my pain. All of these combination medications that contain a narcotic and Acetaminophen have been lowered to only contain a maximum of 352mgs per dose and any that contained more than that have been discontinued. Good morning or afternoon all... Some years ago I was prescribed Oxycodone. Chronic lower back pain and in both legs. Had AFIB...hospitalized for weeks. Then developed blood clots. Asked doc to take me off of Oxycodone. Too strong. Tried Tramadol. Body didn't like it. Tried another. Still issues. Went to Hydrocodone / Acetaminophen 7.5 / 325. Better. Then tried Aurobindo. For me, it is great! 4 years now. No side effects, etc. A few months back Aurobindo was discontinued. Contacted the manufacturer. Might come back again, but who knows when. Anyway, I tried Mallinckrodt... body doesn't like it. Tried Rhodes...not as good for me as Aurobindo. But stuck with Rhodes. Any ideas who might still have Aurobindo? Not CVS, not Walmart, not Walgreens. Or I would try another brand. Suggest...

Mallinckrodt still makes hydrocodone. Depending on lowest bidder, unless a drug is truly discontinued, that's who your pharmacy will stock. I am a tech and our pharmacy just changed to Mallinkrodt which I feel is an inferior product. ## What brand is the least troublesome ? Do you get many complaints from your opioid using customers ? What really happened is that due to mandatory manufacturing limits, a shortage almost always occurs toward the end of the year and usually is rectified about mid-January of the new year. I had been taking Hydrocodone 5-500 (Vicodin) many years at the same dose when this drug was discontinued an replaced with the 5-325 (Norco) strength. I am still taking the same number of pills daily but after about three months I just do not feel like the new pills control the pain as well as the previous ones did. I know there is not supposed to be any different between the two other than the amount of acetaminophen is there anything else that might effect how the medicine is absorbed and how quickly it is? 108 white oval ## MIA 108 contains 500mgs of Acetaminophen and 5mgs of Hydrocodone, a generic for Vicodin or Lortab, this is a narcotic pain reliever. NOTE: MIA 108 has been discontinued for quite some time, so I wouldn't recommend taking these pills if you still have them.
