The dosage and administration guidelines for this medication state the following: For adults and children over age 12, one capsule of Carbocisteine (Solmux) should be taken with food every 8 hours. This is my second time noticing that I have some problems taking solmux 500mg. The first time was every time I coughed, I could feel so much pain in my stomach. My coughing had to be long and hard. The next day I went to the doctor, who instead prescribed me with an antibiotic. This time after a few hours of taking the first solmux capsule, I felt so much itching from my shoulders down to my whole back to my butt area, then to my chest.
