I have gallbladder pain and in taking 5/325 one bottle from hospital says take every 4 hours.. and my bottle from Doctor with same dosage says take every 6 hours I'm in pain I took my last ones at 7 pm cN I take more now??? I've been taking 2 at a time my Name is Lindsay ## Lindsay, Although the pdr lists 1-2 tablets by mouth every 4-6 hours as needed for pain. If your personal physicians only recommend 1 tablet every 4 or 6 hours I wouldn't exceed a total of 6 in a 24 hour period.If your pain level is so unmanageable you might consider being re-evaluated since a change in condition may have occurred . It will also probably cause it to enter your blood stream faster, so you would feel the effects much sooner than you would, when you swallow a tablet, so you should use caution if you are going to be driving, since it can cause dizziness and drowsiness, as side effects. My doctor prescribed the liquid hydrocodone/APA 7.5-500mg/15ml to me for pain. The pharmacy label says to take 1 TEASPOON every 6 hours. This seems unusual given that this dosage seems to be most often given in 15ml doses as opposed to the 5ml in a teaspoon. I have read that Norco and similar meds can raise blood pressure. I was wondering if it is the hydrocodone or the acetaminophen that causes your blood pressure to go up or if it could be the actual pain you are treating? ## In actuality, it could be any, or all. It really depends on the person, according to FDA reports, it would most commonly become elevated due to the pain. Most opiate medication, such as Norco are known to lower it, more often than they will cause it to become elevated. Is the person in question taking any other medications? Do they have any other diagnosed medical conditions? How high were the blood pressure readings?

In the past I have always gotten more pain relief from hydrocodone, but due to my chronic pain and Tylenol in it IM often number up to a stronger medicine, I just got my Medicare and will receive pain management again, are there any versions without Tylenol I could take covered by part d? ## Zohydro ER went on the market this year. It is the first and only extended release hydrocodone on the market. It also does not contain tylenol or any other medication. Because it is new, it is very expensive. It also is a Schedule II. Which means it can't be called in, no refills and you must see your dr at least every 90 days. It does require Prior Authorization for Medicare to pay for it.
