I've been taking Xanax brand name for panic attacks and anxiety as needed, not regularly, for the past five years. I've never increased my dose of frequency of taking this med at any point, and am not physically dependent at all. Up until last month ago, the label had always said it was manufactured by "Pharmacia" or "Pharmacia/Upjohn". For years they worked fantastically with no sleepiness or other side effects. I was totally functional. I was shocked when--at some point last month--I took my Xanax to ease panic and did not notice any relief at all in terms of my mental state. Instead, I felt physically hot, dizzy, sweaty, and as if all motivation had been sucked out of my body. It was a terrible feeling in addition to the panic. I thought it was just a bad coin...

What can happen to you if you mix Alprazolam with a stimulant drug? What might be the side effects? My friend does not remember things that have happened in the last 7 days and we think she may have taken a Mylan A4 2mg Alprazolam tablet. ## Many people seem to mix the two as if taking Xanax wasn't bad enough ## What stimulant does she take? The issue here could be due to the fact that they are basically conflicting medications. The FDA usually warns against taking them together, since they have opposite effects, one is an 'upper', so to speak, and the other is a 'downer', this can cause one's body to go into shock and experience some very undesirable effects, such as you've described. In many cases, taking conflicting medications, so your body is not sure wh...

I have been taking .5 mg xanax every night for the last 8 months to fall asleep. It actually works, but I think I'm having side effects. I used to wake up 3 times per night before Xanax, and now I sleep through the night, but I wake up exhausted and sluggish. I'm having memory problems and I don't feel alert. Am I addicted? Can I just stop, since it's such a low dose? Do I have to reduce slowly? It's only .5 mg per night. Any ideas?? HELP! ## Those are normal side effects for Xanax. I want to know which is stronger. The Ativan or Xanax? Which one lasts the longest? I have really bad anxiety so I wanted to know which one is better to take? ## Xanax is stronger than Ativan, it is actually twice as strong. You only need a half a milligram of it to equal each 1mg of the Ativan. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and irritability.
