hi ive just been put on pregabalina for nerve damage to my right leg i was put on gablapenting is it just the same ## NO! Pregabalin and Gabapentin are two different drugs.! Pregabalin is a generic for Lyrica and Gabapentin is the generic for Neurontin, though they are both used to treat nerve pain.

I have been taking 50 mg of Lyrica 3 xs a day for about 8 years. I understand there is finally a generic Pregabalin available. Has anyone taken the generic? I was getting my Lyrica for free through Pfizer but now that there is a generic Pfizer will no longer give me Lyrica and I will have to pay for it. ## That is normal, once the generic is available, a manufacturer will usually end their assistance program for any given medication. I was on Atacand for several years, and then had to switch, once a generic became available, and the program ended, because at that time, I was uninsured, and still couldn't afford the generic price, which was over $100 a month. Before Lyrica went generic I was getting it for free. However now I have to go through my insurance or on my own. I discovered GoodRX and now get Pregabalin 3 months supply (270 capsules) for $28 with a coupon. Prices vary tremendously at various pharmacies. Some as high as $500 and some as low as $28 for 3 month supply. Shop around! It is usually best NOT to go through your insurance company. ## GoodRX is also much cheaper than most insurance prices for many medicines. what is the difference between lyrica 75 and nova 75? ## Lyrica is the name brand for Pregabalin and the one manufactured by Nova, with that marking is a generic, but it contains the same active ingredient, in the same dosage. it is a pinkish color capsule and it says pfuer i think and has pgn200 on the other end of capsule ## the pill you have is lyrica the more common number is pgn 150 pgn 200 is the newer form of them but still does the same thing as the older ones just hits you harder and its got a better time release then the older ones ## That marking is intended to be Pfizer PGN 200, and they list it as containing 200mgs of Pregabalin, which is a generic for Lyrica, this is not a time released formulation. This is an anticonvulsant that has also been approved to treat certain types of nerve pain, and some mood disorders.
