Hi. Since generic Lorazepams are basically the same, there still can be bad side effects switching to another, if one is discontinued. Some generics have different binders and fillers and maybe not enough, or too much of one component in which makes you sick. Since all the pharmaceutical companies buy & sell companies regularly and the pharmacies switch to the cheapest generics they can find monthly, has anyone found in the year 2015, a generic Ativan/Lorazepam that is of good quality? I only take it as needed and do not take daily. Just before Christmas I filled a script for generic Ativan and did not feel that it worked anymore than drinking a glass of water. The imprint is Watson, 241/1, white, round. My health insurance will pay for generic only. I am allowed to pay a higher copay in order to get the Brand medication if I wanted but Brand gets costly. Have been using Lorazepam by Ranbaxy for years, but is no longer available from the Giant Food Store Pharmacy near Manassas, Virginia. Does this 2 mg lorazepam manufactured by Watson and the same pill manufactured by Qualitest have the same inactive ingredients? ## I was put on the qualitest(so)? brand and after I've been on Watson for years - the Qualitest is a placebo to me. it does NOT work for me. my pharmacist at Rite- aid said they're all the same and I said no they're not and he said that they can't order Watson when they want anymore due to some bogus reason. I have been taking a round white Lorazepam pill from Watson, now my refill is from Ranbaxy. I've never encountered generic lorazepam by ANI. I've had Watson (my favorite now defunct), Actavis, Leading (my least favorite), and what I've been taking for the past 5 years- Teva (which I just read is considered weak...hmmm). I must put in my new prescription tomorrow.....has anyone had experience with ANI? My choices are ANI and Leading. (Sigh)

Been on Sandoz mfr. lorazepam for 10 years; no problems; no need to increase dose. Sandoz stopped mfr. Now, can only get these generic's & Actavis. Has anybody taken this medicine which is a generic for Ativan manufactured in India? ## The drug brand named Lori (2 mg) is said to be manufactured by Cyril Pharmaceuticals. Just to clear up any confusion, it's not a generic for Ativan; just another brand name. Ativan is also a brand name. Lorazepam is the generic name. I personally haven't tried this brand, but others here on the site have mentioned that it is very weak in comparison to the US counterpart. There's nothing inherently wrong with purchasing meds from India, but from the reviews I've read, many people are complaining about the potency and overall efficacy not being up to par with US drugs. I was taking Watson for sometime. It did the trick with my anxiety. When I went for a refill they gave me Excell. It does not do it for me, only zonks me. The pharmaceutical companies buying and selling other pharmaceuticals the druggist can't keep up with them. I telephoned some local pharmacies also mom and pop pharmacies. This month when I picked up my scrip for Lorazepam I was given a small white round pill with 59 and a half moon shape on one side and scored on the other side. I use lorazepam for insomnia and I feel like this pill has no medication in it. I have been on it for enough time to know what this medication does, I know what it feels like and these do nothing! Has anyone else had this problem with this brand? ## Hello, Caylah! How are you? How long have been taking this one? There can be some slight fluctuations from one generic to another, but your body will adjust after a week or so. Alternatively, if it's causing a serious problem, then you can talk to your doctor about just prescribing the name brand, so the pharmacy can no longer give you a generic.

I’ve been taking the generic brand Mylan Lorazapam for four years. Only one that helps me live a normal life stop anxiety/ptsd/ ect. Lorazepam is also the only medication that works for me. My Doctor and I have tried everything. But horrible side effects! Mylan lorazepam has been a miracle! Sadly I just found out that mylan is discontinuing I have a partial script of .5 mylan because 1mg is already gone and the rest is Actavis! I tried one of the Actavis today and it completely zonked me out and feel so weird! Only other one they said they have is Leading. But I saw people post horrible stuff about that as well. A girl I know goes to a different pharmacy and has the exellium brand. I’ve never heard of it... has anyone taken it on the regular and do you find it’s better...

I was wondering what is the different between Watson and sandoz mfg. I take 0.5 lorazepam and I got a refill my medicine looks different. ## Hello, Dee! How are you? Is there anyone out there who is had a good or a bad experience with mine when I was told that my own was a very good generic for the lorazepam 1 mg as opposed to Watson and the worst being Sandos ## Hello, Andy! I have been having anxiety attacks for over a year. Mydoctor has prescribed both Buspar and Lorazepam. The Lorazepam seems to work better than the buspar. My local pharmacy recently changed from Qualitest lorazepam to Actavis (Watson). So I have to transfer. Most pharmacies here sell Leading Pharma or Actavis. I have an adverse reaction from Watson lorazepam (serious side effects with no calming effect). I used to take Ativan but it is too expensive to continue (I took it when I was abroad and from Kaiser in the U.S. but Kaiser changed it to generic Qualitest lorazepam). I do not use Kaiser insurance anymore. Qualitest is milder than Ativan in terms of effect, like 50%-60% of Ativan, but less dehydrated and OK considering it is generic. Ativan is $2600 for 1mg 30ea in cash. Besides, most insurance does not cover it or do not want to pay for it by forcing doctors to prescribe generic lorazepam instead.
