I have been taking generic Adderall, Amphetamine salts but yesterday when filling my prescription it says now Amphetamine not Amphetamine salts and I feel freaky weird. I have been taking this drug for years and since I took the one with salts yesterday and the one without today I am sure about this not being the same. It is round and has a long score and 2 dot scores on side, front has score of what looks like a half moon and 26 below it. Generic Adderall XR manufactured by Actavis is not the same formulation as was used by Shire/Teva. The efficacy of the drug does not exist in Actavis' version. I plan on filing a complaint with the manufacturer. I encourage others who are not receiving the expected results with Actavis' product to do the same. Be sure call your pharmacy and get the lot number of your capsules. Luckily, I am a chemist who has access to analytical equipment that will help me identify and quantitate this medication. I am unsure if it is indeed amphetamine salts and will not take my prescription. I want to know what I am putting in my body. Does anyone know which generic manufacturer CVS commonly has in stock for both IR and XR Adderall (Amphetamine Salts)? I know they used to carry Mylan for the IR and it's awful. I am currently without insurance and I had to pay $275 (cheapest I could find) for my GENERIC Adderall XR 20mg/60 count. I have read that Teva was the only one to produce the generic version for 180 days from the launch date, which was 4/2/09. My math indicates their 180 days will be up in two days (9/30/09) but I can't find out if any other companies are going to be producing the generic which should drive the price down significantly. Thank you.... ## In order to tell you the manufacturer, you need to provide the markings or imprints on the capsules in question. I do, however, doubt this is the case, because TEVA manufacturer's their own generic medications. Both items that you described are the same medication, the only different you listed was one being controlled release, I do not know if the other one is controlled release or not, from what you provided. I live with a questionable character who I have caught red handed taking my meds from me. I am prescribed amphetamine salts 30 mg xr, generic for adderall. They are orange and clear capsules filled with orange beads. The time I caught him I found that he had taken the pill apart and ingested the beads, then put the pill back together so I wouldn't know...really sneaky. Many pharmacies use whatever companies products are currently available to to dispense. Shire's name brand products are often covered under all but a few insurance companies. It is the "most effective" in Shire's opinion. Teva, a Israeli pharmaceutical firm, as well as others make generic off shoots of mixed amphetamine salts cocombinations. They may be in short supply in areas. Small independent pharmacies are not allotted as many of these CII stimulates.
